Rome Burns are a British four-piece post-punk/gothic rock band from Cambridgeshire, England. Formed in 1995, they have had a number of line-up changes, currently consisting of a lead vocalist, two guitarists, one bass player and a drum machine. Despite not being signed to a label, their music has received worldwide distribution via Resurrection Records (London, UK), CD-Baby (Portland OR, USA) and also online services such as Apple's iTunes and Napster. Generally considered (by the genre's press) as the "Politest Band in Goth", Rome Burns have supported Gene Loves Jezebel, Eva O, The Last Dance, The Crüxshadows, Inkubus Sukkubus and NFD. Career Previous bass player Tori Pink, has also been a member of Screaming Banshee Aircrew, touring extensively with them and appearing on their album, ''When All is Said and Done''. Sol Invictus (band)
Sol Invictus are an English neofolk band fronted by Tony Wakeford. Wakeford has been the sole constant member of the group since its inception, although numerous musicians have contributed and collaborated with Wakeford under the Sol Invictus name over the years. Overview After disbanding his controversial project Above the Ruins, Wakeford returned to the music scene with Sol Invictus in 1987. Since then Sol Invictus has had many musician contributions, including Sarah Bradshaw, Nick Hall, Céline Marleix-Bardeau, Nathalie Van Keymeulen, Ian Read and Karl Blake. Wakeford repeatedly referred to his work as folk noir. Slimelight
Electrowerkz, also known as the Islington Metal Works, is a three-floor music venue in Islington, London. In addition to mainstream club nights, it hosts the weekly goth night club Slimelight and other alternative events. Layout Electrowerkz has three floors. Much of the layout of the ground floor was shaped to accommodate Carsten Höller's pop-up restaurant which used the venue in November 2008–July 2009. The club's dilapidated appearance has been praised for adding to the "gritty warehouse feel" and adding to the club's charm.
