Romania In The Eurovision Song Contest 2010
Romania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song " Playing with Fire" written by Ovidiu Cernăuțeanu. The song was performed by Paula Seling and Ovi. The Romanian broadcaster Televiziunea Română (TVR) organised the national final ''Selecția Națională 2010'' in order to select the Romanian entry for the 2010 contest in Oslo, Norway. Sixteen entries were selected to compete in the national final on 6 March 2010 where "Playing with Fire" performed by Paula Seling and Ovi was selected as the winner after scoring top marks from five regional juries and a public televote. Romania was drawn to compete in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 27 May 2010. Performing during the show in position 10, "Playing with Fire" was announced among the top 10 entries of the second semi-final and therefore qualified to compete in the final on 29 May. Paula Seling
Paula Seling (, born 25 December 1978) is a Romanian singer, songwriter, record producer, DJ, and television personality. Raised in Baia Mare, she attended Gheorghe Șincai National College and later moved to Bucharest to pursue a career in music. She has released more than thirteen albums (including three Christmas albums) and over twenty singles, which include two top-ten hits in the Romanian Top 100, a minor European hit which entered the charts in Finland and Norway, as well as the UK Singles Chart. Paula is trilingual and speaks, writes and performs in French, English and Romanian; additionally, she performs in Italian. She has also provided the Romanian voice in ''Cars 2'', for Holley Shiftwell. She is an outspoken supporter of personal freedom, individual rights and human rights. ''Adevărul'' (; meaning "The Truth", formerly spelled ''Adevĕrul'') is a Romanian daily newspaper, based in Bucharest. Craiova
Craiova (, also , ), is Romania's 6th Cities in Romania, largest city and capital of Dolj County, and situated near the east bank of the river Jiu River, Jiu in central Oltenia. Olsen Brothers
Olsen Brothers ( da, Brødrene Olsen) are a Danish rock/pop music duo, formed by brothers Jørgen (born 15 March 1950) and Niels "Noller" Olsen (born 13 April 1954), both from Odense, who won the Eurovision Song Contest 2000. The Eurovision Song Contest 2000 was the 45th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Xonia (born Loredana Sachelaru; 25 June 1989) is an Australian-born Romanian singer, songwriter, actress and dancer. Biography 1989–2007: Early life and education Xonia was born 25 June 1989 in Melbourne, Australia to Romanian parents. Marcel Pavel (; born 4 December 1959, in Galați County) is a folk music singer in Romania. His singing talents brought him to the top of the Romanian charts more than once. In 2002, Marcel was elected as ''The best male voice''. His first hit was "Frumoasa mea" by Ovidiu Komornyc. His latest album is "Te vreau langa mine" (I want you near me). One of his songs: 'Unde esti?'(Where are you?) was chosen as the best song in 2001. In 2002, he won the national selections for the Eurovision Song Contest together with Monica Anghel. Blaxy Girls
Blaxy Girls was a Romanian all-girl rock band from Constanta, formed in 2007. The band consisted of lead singer Rucsandra Iliescu, bassist Cristina Marinescu, guitarist Diana Ganea, pianist Ana Maria Nanu and drummer Gela Marinescu. The group's first single, "If You Feel My Love" quickly became very popular in Romania. Their second great hit was "Dear Mama". The clip was internationally released in the beginning of March, as a present for the women and mothers all around the world. The first album of the group was released in December 2008. The album included a bonus track "If You Feel My Love (Chaow MIX)", a remixed version of the lead single which features a sample of a classic Beijing opera about Chen Shimei and Qin Xianglian. Anda Adam
Anda Adam (born 27 April 1980) is a Romanian singer and model. She is best known for her singles " My Love on You" and " Panda Madam". Anda began her music career in 1999, after collaborating with Romanian band R.A.C.L.A. on the songs "Nu mă uita" and "Fiesta" for their EP ''Nu mă uita''. This inspired Anda to begin her own music career, releasing her debut EP ''Ca Între Fete'' later that year. In 2003, she released her secpmd EP ''Doar cu tine''.
