The Roman Catholic Metropolitan Archdiocese of Pondicherry and Cuddalore la, Pondicherien(sis) et Cuddaloren(sis) is an archdiocese located in the cities of Pondicherry and Cuddalore in India. History With a land area of 11,348 square kilometers, the Archdiocese of Pondicherry-Cuddalore extends over the Pondicherry and Karaikal civil districts of Puducherry union territory and the civil districts of Cuddalore and Viluppuram of Tamil Nadu state. Daniel Paul Arulswamy (5 September 1916 – 12 October 2003) was an Indian clergyman and bishop for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kumbakonam. Arulswamy was born in Viragalur. Latin Rite
Latin liturgical rites, or Western liturgical rites, are Catholic rites of public worship employed by the Latin Church, the largest particular church ''sui iuris'' of the Catholic Church, that originated in Europe where the Latin language once dominated. Its language is now known as Ecclesiastical Latin. The most used rite is the Roman Rite.
