The Archdiocese of San Luis Potosí ( la, Archidioecesis Sancti Ludovici Potosiensis) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical jurisdiction or archdiocese of the Catholic Church in Mexico. A metropolitan see, its ecclesiastical province contains three suffragan dioceses: Ciudad Valles, Matehuala and Zacatecas. The cathedra is found within the Cathedral of St. Louis the King in the episcopal see of San Luis Potosí. Arturo Antonio Szymanski Ramírez
Arturo Antonio Szymanski Ramírez (17 January 1922 – 29 May 2018) was a Mexican prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. Szymanski was born in Tampico and ordained a priest on 22 March 1947. Szymanski was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Andrés Tuxtla, Diocese of San Andrés Tuxtla as well as titular bishop of Cerasus on 20 April 1960 and was consecrated on 21 June 1960. Symanski succeeded bishop Jesús Villareal y Fierro a short time after his death on 21 March 1965 to the Diocese of San Andrés Tuxtla. On 13 August 1968 Szymanski was appointed bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tampico, Diocese of Tampico and would remain at the Tampico diocese until 1987. Cucunuchi ( – 1838), baptized as Estanislao, was an indigenous '' alcalde'' of Mission San José and a member and leader of the Lakisamni tribe of the Yokuts people of northern California. He is famous for leading bands of armed Native Americans in revolt against the Mexican government and Mission establishments. Early life Estanislao was born about 1798 on the banks of the Río de Laquisimes (present-day Stanislaus River, Modesto, California). According to records at Mission San José, mission padres visited the Laquisimes area in 1821 and insisted that Cucunuchi return to the mission along with his wife, daughter, and mother to receive a formal Christian education. Guillermo Tritschler Y Córdova
Guillermo Tritschler y Córdova (6 July 1878 – 29 July 1952) was a Mexican prelate of the Catholic Church. Born in 1878 to the German-born Martin Tritschler and Rosa Córdova, his he was raised mostly by his uncle, who sent him to study at the Colegio Pio-Latino-Americano Pontificio and Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He was ordained in 1904 and served as a seminary professor and later Canon penitentiary, Canon Penitentiary of the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral. In 1931 he was appointed Archbishop of San Luis Potosí, where he served until 1941, when he was appointed Archbishop of Monterrey. He served in that position until his death on 29 July 1952. His cause for canonization is open and the Congregation for the Causes of Saints recently conferred on him the title of Servant of God.
