The Roissy–Picardie Link is a planned railway line near Paris. LGV Interconnexion Est
The LGV Interconnexion Est is a French high-speed rail line that connects the LGV Nord, LGV Est, LGV Sud-Est and LGV Atlantique through suburbs of Paris. Opened in 1994, it consists of three branches, which begin at Coubert: * west branch: towards Paris and western France, terminating at Valenton joining LGV Atlantique at Massy TGV. * north branch: towards northern France, London and Brussels, joining the LGV Nord at Vémars * south branch: towards southeastern France, joining the LGV Sud-Est at Moisenay The south and west branches are now shared with the LGV Sud-Est line. Creil
Creil is a commune in the Oise department in northern France. The Creil station is an important railway junction. History Archaeological remains in the area include a Neolithic site as well as a late Iron Age necropolis, perhaps belonging to a Gaulish fortress or protected camp. The city itself is mentioned for the first time in a 633 AD document. The Château de Creil is recorded from the 7th century. There are some traces of a castle in which Charles VI resided during the period of his madness, 1390. Creil played a part of some importance in the wars of the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. LGV Picardie
The LGV Picardie is a proposed French high-speed rail line running between Paris and Calais, via Amiens, in Northern France. When the LGV Nord was planned, the residents of the city of Amiens in the Picardy region campaigned for the line to run through Amiens. The SNCF decided instead to build the new high-speed line on a more direct route between Paris and Lille. The Picardy region is now served by the TGV Haute Picardie station, though this has been criticised for its lack of intermodal connections, summarised by the saying, ''la gare des betteraves'' ("station in a beetroot field"). The LGV Picardie would presumably deviate from the existing line north of the Gare du Nord and proceed directly to a new junction with the Calais branch of the LGV Nord to the east of Calais-Fréthun station. The Ligne à Grande Vitesse Nord (North High-Speed Line), typically shortened to LGV Nord, is a French -long high-speed rail line, opened in 1993, that connects Paris to the Belgian border and the Channel Tunnel via Lille. With a maximum speed of , the line appreciably shortened rail journeys between Paris and Lille. Its extensions to the north (Belgium, the Channel Tunnel) and the south (via the LGV Interconnexion Est) have reduced journey times to Great Britain and Benelux and for inter-regional trips between the Nord (Pas de Calais) region and the southeast and southwest of France.
