Roger Cavan Lambart, 13th Earl of Cavan (born 1 September 1944), is a hereditary peer. Lord Cavan was educated at Wilson's School, Surrey, St Clare's International School and King's College London. The title Earl of Cavan was created in the Peerage of Ireland in 1647 for Charles Lambart, 2nd Baron Lambart. Lord Cavan holds the subsidiary titles Viscount Kilcoursie, in the King's County (1647), and Lord Lambart, Baron of Cavan in the County of Cavan (1618), both also in the Peerage of Ireland. The Earl of Cavan inherited the title from his relative, the 12th Earl. He is the descendant of Commander the Honourable Oliver Lambart, a younger son of the 7th Earl. Richard Lambart, 7th Earl Of Cavan
Richard Ford William Lambart, 7th Earl of Cavan (10 September 1763 – 21 November 1837), styled Viscount Kilcoursie from 1772 to 1778, was a British military commander throughout the Napoleonic era and beyond. He became head of the British Army in Egypt. He suggested to the British government the removal of the obelisk known as Cleopatra's Needle, for long centuries embedded in the sand near Alexandria, Egypt. The undertaking was considered too costly and not taken up until 1877, and the obelisk now stands on the London Embankment to commemorate the conclusion of the Napoleonic Wars. Biography He was born into an Anglo-Irish aristocratic family, the only son of The 6th Earl of Cavan, whom he succeeded in 1778, and his second wife Elizabeth Davies, daughter of William Davies. Cavan ( ; ) is the county town of County Cavan in Ireland. The town lies in Ulster, near the border with County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. The town is bypassed by the main N3 road that links Dublin (to the south) with Enniskillen, Ballyshannon and Donegal Town (to the north). Wilson's School
Wilson's School is a state boys' grammar school with academy status in the London Borough of Sutton, England. It was founded as Wilson's Grammar School in Camberwell in 1615, making it one of the country's oldest state schools.
