	Annemarie Roeper Annemarie Roeper (August 27, 1918 – May 11, 2012) was a pioneer in gifted education who founded the Roeper School (Michigan) with her husband George in 1941. The school continues on two campuses: lower elementary grades in Bloomfield Hills and Middle-Upper Elementary in Birmingham, in Michigan. Early life Annemarie was born on August 27, 1918, in Vienna, Austria-Hungary, to parents Max and Gertrud Bondy. Gertrud Bondy was a medical doctor as well as a psychiatrist-in-training with Sigmund Freud. Gertrud and her husband Max founded a series of schools focusing on, “psychoanalytic understanding of human development and a desire to educate children to build and thrive in a pluralistic, democratic society” including a school in the town of Marineau. 	Bruno De Roeper Group Captain Bruno Philip Henry de Roeper, (1892–1965) was a British World War I flying ace credited with five aerial victories, who went on to serve during World War II. Biography World War I service De Roeper joined the Royal Naval Air Service on 16 April 1915 as a Temporary Flight Sub-Lieutenant, based at . On 1 July he was granted the Royal Aero Club Aviators Certificate No. 1379 after flying a Grahame-White biplane at the Grahame-White Flying School at Hendon Aerodrome, and was confirmed in his rank on 26 October. 	Richard Roeper Richard E. Roeper (born October 17, 1959) is an American columnist and film critic for the ''Chicago Sun-Times''. He co-hosted the television series '' At the Movies'' with Roger Ebert from 2000 to 2008, serving as the late Gene Siskel's successor. From 2010 to 2014, he co-hosted ''The Roe and Roeper Show'' with Roe Conn on WLS-AM. From October 2015 to October 2017, Roeper served as the host of the FOX 32 morning show ''Good Day Chicago.'' Early life Roeper was born in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in south suburban Dolton, Illinois and attended Thornridge High School, before graduating from Illinois State University in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in journalism. 	Roeper School The Roeper School is a private coeducational day school, with campuses in Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in Greater Detroit, serving students at all levels from preschool through the 12th grade. It was formerly known as Roeper City and Country School. History The Roeper School was founded in 1941 by George and Annemarie Roeper, who were forced to flee Nazi Germany. At the time the Roepers fled Europe, Annemarie had been invited by Anna Freud to be her protégé and, in fact, had completed her first year of medical school. Together the Roepers founded the school intending it to be a place that, by teaching personal motivation and encouraging critical thinking skills and analysis, would educate children who would not follow leadership blindly as they believed had happened to many people in interwar Germany.
