Rodrigo Gil De Hontañón
Rodrigo Gil de Hontañón (1500–1577) was a Spanish architect of the Renaissance. He was born at Rascafría. His work alternated the late gothic with the renaissance style. His workings include the Palace of Monterrey in Salamanca, the Palace of Guzmanes in León, and the facade of the Colegio Mayor de San Ildefonso at the University of Alcalá de Henares. He also worked in Arzobispo Fonseca College and in the Convent of San Esteban, both in Salamanca and in the Cathedral of Ciudad Rodrigo. He was the son of the Trasmeran mason named Juan Gil de Hontañón, Rodrigo continued the works in the cathedrals of Salamanca and Segovia, both begun by his father in Gothic style. Gil de Hontañón died at Segovia in 1577. Palace Of Guzmanes
The Palacio de los Guzmanes is a Renaissance building in the city of León; it is the seat of Provincial Government of León. The architect Rodrigo Gil de Hontañón built the palace in the 16th century, commissioned by the aristocratic family of Guzmán, one of the city's powerful and influential families. It is three-story high with square towers at the four corners and is arranged around a two-story courtyard. The façade has a round arches gallery on the top floor. Antonio Palacios Ramilo (8 January 1874 – 27 October 1945) was a Spanish architect. Distinguished by the monumental eclecticism he left as imprint in many of his projects, he helped define the architectural identity of Madrid in the first half of the 20th century. Biography Born on 8 January 1874 in O Porriño, province of Pontevedra. Palacios moved to Madrid to start his studies as Engineer; he switched to Architecture, and obtained a degree in 1903. A prolific architect, he modernized the image of Madrid with some of the mo.st emblematic buildings of the Spanish capital. Juan Gil de Hontañón (Rasines, Cantabria 1480 – Salamanca, 11 May 1531) was a master builder and Trasmeran mason of Spain during the 16th century. His first work was associated with Segovia, where he was associated with the school of Juan Guas. Hontañón was involved in the building of the Isabelline Gothic Segovia Cathedral, the castle of Turégano, various monasteries, and the Cathedral of Palencia.
