Ron Nevison is an American record producer and audio engineer. He started his career in the early 1970s as an engineer on ''Quadrophenia'' by the Who and Bad Company's debut album. He eventually became a producer, working with artists including Meat Loaf, The Babys, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne, UFO, Michael Schenker Group, Survivor, Jefferson Starship, Thin Lizzy, Kiss, Europe, Chicago, Grand Funk Railroad, Heart, and Damn Yankees among many others. Career Overview Nevison's first work was as an engineer for the Who's ''Quadrophenia''. From there, he did engineering work on the first three albums by Bad Company. ''Survivor'' is the first album by the American rock band Survivor, recorded and released in 1979. It is the band's only album with its original drummer, Gary Smith, and bass guitarist, Dennis Keith Johnson. The recording sessions, overseen by the A&R executive John Kalodner, were not without difficulties. First, Ron Nevison replaced Barry Mraz as producer, and then the project had to be taken to Bruce Fairbairn in Vancouver to achieve a mix that was to Kalodner's satisfaction. The album took eight months to finally be released. The album just entered the charts, reaching #169 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in spring 1980, but the opening track, "Somewhere In America", was a regional hit in the Chicago area, and "Youngblood", with its dramatic guitar introduction, proved to be something of a blueprint for the band's smash hit two years later, "Eye of the Tiger". Richard Donald Barnes (born December 3, 1952) is an American rock vocalist and guitarist and one of the founding members of the Southern rock band 38 Special. Barnes performed lead vocals on nearly all of the group's biggest hits, including " Rockin' into the Night", "Hold On Loosely", "Caught Up in You", "If I'd Been the One", "Back Where You Belong", "Like No Other Night", "Somebody Like You", " Teacher Teacher", "Back to Paradise", "You Keep Runnin' Away", "Fantasy Girl" and more. Barnes left the band in 1987, with the song "Back to Paradise" (from the movie '' Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise'') being his final hit with the band. He was replaced by Max Carl. Jim Peterik
James Michael Peterik ( ; born November 11, 1950) is an American musician and songwriter. He is best known as the founder of the rock band Survivor, as vocalist and songwriter of "Vehicle" by the Ides of March, and as co-writer of the anthem "Eye of the Tiger", the theme from the 1982 film ''Rocky III''. Peterik has co-written songs for 38 Special (" Rockin' into the Night",, "Hold On Loosely and "Caught Up in You"), Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackhawk, Cheap Trick, Sammy Hagar (" Heavy Metal"), Cathy Richardson, Dennis DeYoung, Van Zant, Brian Wilson, REO Speedwagon, and The Beach Boys.
