Rock And Roll Night Club
''Rock and Roll Night Club'' is Canadian recording artist Mac DeMarco's debut mini-LP. It was recorded in 2012 in DeMarco's Montreal-based studio Jizz Jazz Studios and released through Captured Tracks on March 13, 2012. Composition ''Rock and Roll Night Club'' combines elements of American soul, chopped and screwed music, glam rock, 1950s rock and roll, garage rock, new wave and Captured Tracks' signature jangle guitar pop sound. ''Pitchfork''s Evan Minsker opined that, lyrically, "it's probably safe to assume that at least 80% of ''Night Club'' is laced with a meta joke that nobody's in on except DeMarco," and No Ripcord described his performance on the record as resembling a "hopelessly romantic swinger." MacBriare Samuel Lanyon DeMarco (born Vernor Winfield MacBriare Smith IV; April 30, 1990) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. New Wave Music
New wave is a loosely defined music genre that encompasses pop-oriented styles from the late 1970s and the 1980s. Pavement is an American indie rock band that formed in Stockton, California, in 1989. For most of their career, the group consisted of Stephen Malkmus (vocals and guitar), Scott Kannberg (guitar and vocals), Mark Ibold (bass), Steve West (drums) and Bob Nastanovich (percussion and vocals). Initially conceived as a recording project, the band at first avoided press or live performances, while attracting considerable underground attention with their early releases. Charles Arthur Feathers (June 12, 1932 – August 29, 1998) was an American musician most associated with the rockabilly scene of the 1950s. Although not initially recognized for his contributions to rockabilly, over time his presence would become greatly elevated and he has been cited as an influence by a number of musicians.
