''Robinsonada or My English Grandfather'' ( ka, რობინზონიადა ანუ ჩემი ინგლისელი პაპა, robinzoniada anu chemi ingliseli papa; russian: Робинзонада, или Мой английский дедушка, Robinzonada ili moy angliskiy dedushka; also known as ''Robinson Crusoe in Georgia'') is a 1987 Georgian comedy film directed by Nana Djordjadze. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Caméra d'Or. Plot The main story of the film is framed as the reminiscences of an aged Georgian woman recalling her love affair, many years earlier, with an English telegraph worker. Shortly before the Soviet take-over of Georgia in 1921, Christopher Hughes is sent to rural Georgia to work on a telegraph line between the UK and India, which runs through Georgian territory. Nana Djordjadze
Nana Jorjadze ( ka, ნანა ჯორჯაძე; born 24 August 1948) is an Academy Award nominated film director, scriptwriter and actress. Jorjadze was born in Tbilisi, and graduated first from a local musical school (1966), and then from the architectural department at the Tbilisi State Academy of Fine Arts (1972). Having worked as an architect in the years 1968 to 1974, she enrolled in the Tbilisi State Theatre Institute which she completed in 1980. She debuted as an actress with the film ''Some Interviews on Personal Matters'' in 1977; and as a director with ''A Journey to Sopot'' in 1979. Her 1987 work '' Robinsonada or My English Grandfather'' was a breakthrough that won her the Caméra d'Or at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival, and both critical and popular acclaim. She moved to France early in the 1990s and directed several films including ''A Chef in Love'' (1996) which became the first, and so far the only, Georgian film to be nominated for the Academy Award. Tiko Eliosidze
Tiko, originally called ‘Keka’ by the Bakweris, is a town and important port in the southwest region of Cameroon. The settlement grew as a market town for Duala (or Douala) fishermen, Bakweri ( Kpwe people) farmers and hunters from Molyko, Bwenga, Bulu and Bokova. The core quarters in Tiko include Streets 1 to 7, Motombolombo, Down Beach, New Quarter, P&T quarters, New Layout, Long Street, Likomba, Golf Club, Mutengene, Ombe. As of 2010, the town is estimated to have a population of 55,914. Tiko is a popular destination for tourists visiting Cameroon. The town is also an industrial area which is mostly occupied by the CDC (Cameroon Development Co-operation), which produces rubber, banana, and palm oil.
