Robin Singh (cricketer)
Robindra Ramnarine "Robin" Singh (born 14 September 1963) is an Indian former cricketer and cricket coach. He represented India in one Test and 136 ODIs between 1989 and 2001 as an all-rounder. He has coached the Indian Premier League's Mumbai Indians since 2010 and the Caribbean Premier League's Barbados Tridents since 2013. He has also coached the Deccan Chargers in the IPL's inaugural year. As a player, he was known for his calmness and ability to perform under pressure. He brought to Indian cricket world class fielding. Born in Trinidad to Indo-Trinidadian parents, Singh moved to India in 1984 and studied at Madras University during which he played club and college-level cricket. He helped Tamil Nadu win the Ranji Trophy in 1988, and was one of the season's most consistent players. Tamil Nadu won the trophy then after 33 long years and have not won it again since. Robin Singh (born 1 January 1970) is a former Indian cricketer who played one Test match in 1999. He currently serves as one of the cricket experts for All India Radio and as an income tax inspector for ITO, New Delhi. He was also contracted as Mumbai Indians' fielding coach in the Indian Premier League. His sole Test match was against New Zealand in 1999 at Hamilton as a replacement for Ajit Agarkar. He has represented Delhi in the Ranji Trophy, with his best performances including a 10-wicket haul for Delhi in a Ranji Trophy game. He also vice-captained the Delhi Ranji team for some time. Robin Singh (born 9 May 1990) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Bangalore Super Division club SC Bengaluru. Club career Early career Born in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Singh started playing cricket and football at an academy in Noida at the age of nine years. He played with them at many youth tournaments. He started playing his football with former Indian footballer, Anadi Barua. At the age of thirteen Singh had to make a choice between either football or cricket and choose football as that was the sport he enjoyed most playing out of the two. Gaining support from his parents Singh started to attend St. Stephen's Football Academy which is located in Chandigarh.
