Roberto García (Mexican Boxer)
Roberto García (born March 26, 1980) is a Mexican professional boxer. Early life García moved to Houston, Texas at an early age. It was in Houston that García began to box. His father turned his home into a gym where he trained, and he began boxing at the age of 16. In his junior year in high school he was challenged by a local Boys and Girls Club Champion at school. "My very first sparring session ended really quick. It was over in the beginning round. Right when I punched him on the nose he quit, I'm it pretty sure it was broken", García was quoted as saying. The local boxing coach spoke to him after the sparring session and convinced him to begin boxing. During the next three years, García won three consecutive Rio Grande Valley Golden Gloves Championships. He set his sights on the pro ranks. He left home to train in Reynosa, Mexico. Martin Murray (born 27 September 1982) is a British former professional boxer who competed 2007 to 2020. He held the WBA interim middleweight title from 2011 to 2014, the British and Commonwealth middleweight titles between 2010 and 2012, and challenged five times for a world title. Hidalgo is a city in Hidalgo County, Texas, United States. The population was 11,198 at the 2010 census, and in 2019 the estimated population was 14,183. History The area that is now Hidalgo was first settled by Spanish colonists led by José de Escandón ''circa'' 1749. The Payne Arena is a multi-purpose complex, in Hidalgo, Texas. It was formerly known as Dodge Arena from 2003 until February 2010, State Farm Arena from 2010 to September 2018, and then State Farm Hidalgo Arena for one year. Capacity The arena seats up to 5,500 persons in its configuration for ice hockey, indoor football and indoor soccer, and up to 6,800 persons in its center stage concert configuration, which has also been used for boxing events. Victor Manuel Cayo (born November 17, 1984) is a Dominican former professional boxer who competed from 2006 to 2014, and challenged once for the WBA interim super lightweight title in 2010. Professional career Cayo made his professional debut on May 8, 2006, scoring a four-round unanimous decision over Hector Bello.
