Robert W. Healy
Robert W. Healy (born August 1943) is an American city manager who was the longest-serving city manager in the history of Cambridge, Massachusetts. He served from July 1, 1981 until June 30, 2013. Prior to assuming that position, Healy initially served as acting city manager from July 1, 1981 to December 14, 1981. He also served as acting City Manager of Lowell, Massachusetts in 1974. Early life Healy was born in the North Cambridge neighborhood of Cambridge. During his youth his family moved to Billerica, Massachusetts. He attended the Catholic Keith Academy in Lowell and earned a bachelor's degree in English from University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1965. After graduating he taught English and coached football and hockey at Tewksbury Memorial High School. In 1969, Healy left teaching to become a probation officer at the Lowell District Court. Cambridge ( ) is a city in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. As part of the Boston metropolitan area, the cities population of the 2020 U.S. census was 118,403, making it the fourth most populous city in the state, behind Boston, Worcester, and Springfield. William Taupier
William S. Taupier (September 24, 1936 – December 3, 2014) was an American politician and city manager who served as Mayor of Holyoke, Massachusetts from 1968 to 1975 and City Manager of Lowell, Massachusetts from 1975 to 1979. Early life Taupier became interested in politics at a young age. He attended his first Board of Aldermen meeting at the age of sixteen. Taupier was twice elected class president in high school. He envisioned himself becoming campaign manager. Taupier attended Boston College, where he earned a degree and met Patricia McGuire. The two married in 1960 and a year later they settled in Holyoke. Once in Holyoke, Taupier began attending alderman meetings and looked for a candidate to manage. Unable to find one, he decided to run himself and was elected as an alderman-at-large in 1963. Leland Cheung (born c. 1978) is a former City Councillor in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He served from 2009-2017. Education and career Cheung was first elected to the Cambridge City Council in 2009 while pursuing a Masters in Public Administration at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and an MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
