Robert II Of Scotland
Robert II (2 March 1316 – 19 April 1390) was King of Scots from 1371 to his death in 1390. The son of Walter Stewart, 6th High Steward of Scotland, and Marjorie, daughter of King Robert the Bruce, he was the first monarch of the House of Stewart. Upon the death of his uncle David II, Robert succeeded to the throne. Edward Bruce, younger brother of Robert the Bruce, was named heir presumptive but died childless on 3 December 1318. Marjorie Bruce had died probably in 1317 in a riding accident and Parliament decreed her infant son, Robert Stewart, as heir presumptive, but this lapsed on 5 March 1324 on the birth of a son, David, to King Robert and his second wife, Elizabeth de Burgh. Robert Stewart became High Steward of Scotland on his father's death on 9 April 1327, and in the same year Parliament confirmed the young Steward as heir should David die childless. Colonel Sir Robert "Bobby" Christie Stewart KCVO CBE TD (1926 – 25 September 2019) was a Scottish landowner who had a military career in the British Army and was a Lord Lieutenant of two counties in Scotland. He was generally referred to in the community as R. C. Stewart. Early life Stewart was born on 3 August 1926. He was the son of Major Alexander Caldwell Stewart and Florence Hamilton Lighton. Robert Banks Stewart (16 July 1931 – 14 January 2016) was a Scottish screenwriter, television producer and former journalist. He was sometimes credited as Robert Stewart early in his career. Banks Stewart contributed extensively to drama for the BBC and ITV for several decades, which included creating and producing the series ''Shoestring'' (1979) and '' Bergerac'' (1981) and producing the first series of ''Lovejoy'' (1986). He also produced and co-adapted the early episodes of '' The Darling Buds of May'' (1991). Sir Robertson Huntly Stewart (21 September 1913 – 13 August 2007) was a New Zealand industrialist and exporter. He is credited with starting to manufacture plastic goods in the country. Early life Stewart was born in Christchurch in 1913. His father, Robertson McGregor Stewart, was an accountant. His mother was Ivy Emily Stewart (née Wooles). His parents separated when he was six, and Stewart and his younger brother Max remained with their mother. They lived in Sydenham and then Linwood. Robert La Rue Stewart (November 19, 1918 – April 6, 2006), popularly known in the Philippines as "Uncle Bob", was an American entrepreneur, TV personality, radio and TV producer in the Philippines. Robert Burnard Stewart (3 September 1856 – 12 September 1913) was a British and South African soldier and cricketer who played in South Africa's first Test match in 1889. Life and career Stewart was born in Azamgarh, in the United Provinces of India, and educated at Wellington College in England, where he captained the First XI. He served as an officer with the British Army in South Africa, and represented King William's Town, where he was stationed, in the Champion Bat Tournament. In the 1879–80 tournament he was the leading batsman; in the low-scoring final he scored a century and took seven wickets in King William's Town's innings victory over the team from Port Elizabeth. In the next Champion Bat Tournament, in 1884–85, he top-scored for King William's Town in all three matches.
