Robert Monckton-Arundell, 4th Viscount Galway
Sir Robert Monckton-Arundell, 4th Viscount Galway PC (4 July 1752 – 23 July 1810), was a British politician of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. He was a younger son of William Monckton-Arundell, 2nd Viscount Galway and succeeded his elder brother Henry to the title in 1774. He was elected Member of Parliament to represent Pontefract from 1780 to 1783, made a Privy Counsellor in 1784 and knighted in 1786. He was MP for York from 1783 to 1790 and again for Pontefract from 1796 to 1802. Viscount Galway is a title that has been created once in the Peerage of England and thrice in the Peerage of Ireland. The first creation came in the Peerage of England in 1628 in favour of Richard Burke, 4th Earl of Clanricarde. He was made Earl of St Albans at the same time (see the Earl of Clanricarde for more information on this creation). The second creation came in the Peerage of Ireland in 1687 in favour of Ulick Bourke. He was made Baron Tyaquin at the same time, also in the Peerage of Ireland. However, both titles became extinct on his early death in 1691. The third creation came in the Peerage of Ireland in 1692 in favour of the French soldier and diplomat Henry de Massue, Marquis de Ruvigny, who was created Baron Portarlington, also in the Peerage of Ireland, at the same time. Sir William Mordaunt Milner, 3rd Baronet
Sir William Mordaunt Milner, 3rd Baronet (6 October 1754 – 9 September 1811) of Nun Appleton Hall, Yorkshire, was a British Member of Parliament and Lord Mayor of York. He was the eldest surviving son of Sir William Milner, 2nd Baronet, of Nun Appleton by Elizabeth, the daughter and coheiress of Revd. George Mordaunt. He was educated at Eton College between 1766 and 1769. He succeeded his father to the baronetcy in 1774. He served in the British Army as a cornet in the 10th Dragoons from 1772 to 1776. Later in his life he would serve as an officer in the volunteer militia. He was elected Lord Mayor of York for 1787–88 and again for a second term for 1798–99.
