Robert L. Saucy
Robert Lloyd Saucy (May 1, 1930 – March 12, 2015) was an American biblical scholar and professor of systematic theology. Biography Saucy was born in Salem, Oregon, and educated at George Fox College (1949–51) and Westmont College (1951–53), earning his Bachelor of Arts, A.B. in history. He went on to earn both his Master of Theology, Th.M. (1958) and Doctor of Theology, Th.D. (1961) in systematic theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. While completing his graduate studies at Dallas, Saucy served as part-time instructor at the Southern Bible Training Institute, and as part-time pastor at Milligan Bible Church. He was ordained as a minister in the North American Baptist General Conference. In 1961, Saucy joined the faculty of Talbot School of Theology, where he was appointed distinguished professor of systematic theology in 1989. New American Standard Bible
The New American Standard Bible (NASB) is an English translation of the Bible. Published by the Lockman Foundation, the complete NASB was released in 1971. The NASB relies on recently published critical editions of the original Hebrew and Greek texts. The Lockman Foundation claims that the NASB "has been widely embraced as a literal and accurate English translation because it consistently uses the formal equivalence translation philosophy." Translation philosophy The New American Standard Bible is considered by some sources as the most literally translated of major 20th-century English Bible translations. The ''Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society'' is a Scholarly peer review, refereed List of theological journals, theological journal published by the Evangelical Theological Society. It was first published in 1958 as the ''Bulletin of the Evangelical Theological Society'', and was given its present name in 1969. It is a "major journal of conservative American theology." History The journal has been published continuously since 1958. The first issue of the ''Bulletin'' contained a single article, Ned B. Stonehouse's presidential address to the society's annual meeting, entitled "The Infallibility of Scripture and Evangelical Progress." In 1969 the publication attained its present title. In 1988 the circulation was approximately 2500; by 2016 it had increased to 5000. The society provides free online access to digitized back issues. For 22 years until 2021, the editor was Andreas J.
