Robert Kirby (humor Columnist)
Robert Kirby (born 1953 in California) is an American writer. He was a columnist for the ''Salt Lake Tribune'' from 1994 until 2021, focusing on the quirks of Utah and Mormon culture. Biography Kirby was born into a military family. in Barstow, California. He served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in Uruguay, where he met his future wife. On his return from Uruguay, he was hired as a police officer with the Grantsville Police Department, and later the Springville Police Department (1979). Kirby began writing columns for the local newspapers the ''Springville Daily Herald'' and ''Utah County Journal'' under the pseudonym ''Officer John "Blitz" Kreeg'' In 1989, Kirby quit the police force to write full-time. The ''Salt Lake Tribune'' has published his column since 1994. Kirby won the 2007 Utah Headliners Award for the Opinion Column category. General Conference (LDS Church)
General Conference is a gathering of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), held biannually every April and October at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. During each conference, church members gather in a series of two-hour sessions to listen to the faith's leaders. It consists of five general sessions. From April 2018 to April 2021, the priesthood session was held during the April conference, with a General Women's Session (for females 11 years and older) held during October's conference. Herriman, Utah
Herriman ( ) is a city in southwestern Salt Lake County, Utah. The population was 55,144 as of the 2020 census. Although Herriman was a town in 2000, it has since been classified as a fourth-class city by state law. The city has experienced rapid growth since incorporation in 1999, as its population was just 1,523 at the 2000 census. It grew from being the 111th-largest incorporated place in Utah in 2000 to the 14th-largest in 2020. History Founding Herriman was established in 1851 by Henry Harriman, Thomas Jefferson Butterfield, John Jay Stocking, and Robert Cowan Petty.
