Robert Hunt (American Football Coach)
Robert Hunt (born July 22, 1975) is an American football coach and former guard. He graduated from Virginia and played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (drafted in the 7th round in 1999) and in NFL Europe for Frankfurt Galaxy (2000). Early years Hunt played high school football at Menchville High School in Newport News, Virginia, where he was a second-team Associated Press Group AAA all-state selection as a senior at offensive guard. Professional career Hunt was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the seventh round (226th overall) of the 1999 NFL Draft. The 1999 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 17–18, 1999, at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. The league also held a supplemental draft after the regular draft and before the regular season. Five quarterbacks were selected in the first round — Tim Couch, Donovan McNabb, Akili Smith, Daunte Culpepper, and Cade McNown — the second most (along with the 2018 and 2021 drafts) after the 1983 NFL Draft. In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. World Bowl XIII, officially known as Yello Strom World Bowl XIII, was NFL Europe's 2005 championship game. It was played at the LTU arena in Düsseldorf, Germany on June 11, 2005. In this match-up, the 6–4 Amsterdam Admirals got back to the World Bowl after losing in World Bowl III and spending nearly a decade being on the outside.
