Robert Howe (3 August 1903 – 20 June 1979) was a Scottish footballer who played as a left winger. Career Born in Dumbarton, Howe played club football for Hamilton Academical, Hearts, Third Lanark, Queen of the South, St Johnstone and Dundee United, and made two appearances for Scotland – he was the first serving Hamilton player to be capped for his country. Robert Howe (Continental Army Officer)
Robert Howe (; c. 1732 – December 14, 1786) was a Continental Army general from the Province of North Carolina during the American Revolutionary War. The descendant of a prominent family in North Carolina, Howe was one of five generals, and the only major general, in the Continental Army from that state. He also played a role in the colonial and state governments of North Carolina, serving in the legislative bodies of both. Howe served in the colonial militia during the French and Indian War and commanded Fort Johnston at the mouth of the Cape Fear River. He also served as a colonel of Royal Governor William Tryon's artillery during the War of the Regulation. Howe suffered greatly when Tryon, a personal friend, became Governor of New York, and he staunchly opposed Tryon's successor. He became active in organizing efforts within North Carolina and among the American colonies between 1773 and 1775 and was an active member of the North Carolina Provincial Congress. At ... Robert Howe (politician)
Robert Howe (1861 – 2 April 1915) was an Australian politician. He was an Australian Labor Party member of the Australian House of Representatives from 1910 until his death in office in 1915. Howe was born in Newcastle in England, where he received a primary education. He migrated to Australia in 1882 and became a patternmaker and engineer, working for many years at the Cockatoo Island Dockyard. He was Sydney district secretary of the Amalgamated Society of Engineers, and represented the union before the Industrial Court in an early award inquiry. He was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Dalley at the 1910 election, defeating the sitting MP, William Wilks. Scient was a San Francisco-based Internet consulting company, founded in 1997, that was one of the large American consulting firms during the dot-com bubble. The company was founded by Eric Greenberg, who had previously founded its competitor, Viant. Its CEO was Robert Howe, the former head of IBM global consulting. At its height in the fall of 2000, it had quarterly revenues of US$100 million, 1,180 employees and a stock price of US$133. Robert Van Howe
Robert Storms Van Howe is an American pediatrician and circumcision researcher from Marquette, Michigan. He was a professor of pediatrics at Central Michigan University College of Medicine at its founding, where he was the Chief of Pediatrics until 2017. He holds a master's degree in biostatistics, and previously taught pediatrics at Michigan State University. Research Van Howe's research includes a study published in 2007 in ''BJU International''. The study reported that the five most sensitive points on the human penis were all in areas of it that are removed by circumcision and that intact men's penises were four times more sensitive, on average, than were those of circumcised men. Critics of this study have noted that it was funded by the National Organization of Circumcision Information Resource Centers (NOCIRC), an anti-circumcision activist group.
