Robert Clements Gore
Brigadier-General Robert Clements Gore (3 February 1867 – 13 April 1918) was a British Army officer who was killed in action during the First World War. He was a member of the Anglo-Irish Gore family. Military career Gore was educated at Haileybury and Imperial Service College and commissioned into the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders from Royal Military College, Sandhurst in 1886. He was killed in action in Belgium in 1918, while commanding the 101st Brigade. His remains were buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery. Robert Hayes Gore (May 24, 1886 – December 26, 1972) was an American politician and incredibly successful newspaper publisher who was appointed as the governor of Puerto Rico, serving from July 1933 to January 1934. Early life He was born in Knottsville, Kentucky and attended local schools. He became a newspaper writer after being fascinated by papers as a boy. Marriage and family Gore married and he and his wife had nine children. Newspaper career He went on to become an editor-publisher in the Scripps chain, soon heading newspapers in Evansville, Indiana, and Terre Haute, Indiana. While the editor-publisher of the '' Terre Haute Post'', Gore conceived the idea of "giving away" $1,000 travel life insurance policies with new newspaper subscriptions. After securing an underwriter, Gore took his program nationwide. Bobby Gore (born Frederick Douglas Gore; May 11, 1936 – February 12, 2013) was an American gang leader and activist from Chicago, Illinois. Gore was the co–founder and former leader of the " Conservative Vice Lords" (CVL), which are historically one of the largest and most notorious street gangs in Chicago. Gore collaborated in the shift of the organizations criminal affiliations, in which the gang became a non-profit, pro-social community organization. Robert (Rob) Gore (born 1977) is an American emergency physician and the founder of the Kings Against Violence Initiative (KAVI). He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York. He was an inaugural TED Resident in 2016, and in 2018 named a CNN Hero. Early life and education Gore grew up in Brooklyn. He is the son of a community activist and a teacher. He studied at Morehouse College and graduated in 1998. Robert Gore (1810 – 4 August 1854) was an Irish Whig politician and naval officer. He was the son of colonel William John Gore and Caroline née Hales and, at some point, gained the rank of captain in the Royal Navy, and the office of Chargé d'Affaires in Uruguay.
