Robert Lane Gibbs (born March 29, 1971) is an American communication professional who served as executive vice president and global chief communications officer of McDonald's from 2015 to 2019 and as the 27th White House Press Secretary from 2009 to 2011. As executive vice president, Gibbs was in charge of public relations at McDonald's. Before McDonald's, Gibbs was an American political advisor and commentator, who served as White House Press Secretary during the first term of the Obama administration. Gibbs had worked with Obama since 2004 and previously served as the communications director for then-Senator Obama and his campaign during the 2008 presidential election. Robert Gibbes
Robert Gibbes (January 9, 1644 – June 24, 1715) was an English Landgrave, chairman and acting governor of the province of South Carolina between 1710-1712. Although he was elected acting governor by the Executive Council between the three proprietary deputies of former governor, Edward Tynte, after his death, received one vote more than his opponent Thomas Broughton, getting it through bribery. This sparked a conflict between both the oppositions and their supporters which finished with the Lords Proprietors declaring the election of Gibbes illegal (although they allowed them to rule for almost a year) and the appointment of Charles Craven as governor of South Carolina in 1711, who didn't arrive until 1712. Bobby Gibbes
Robert Henry Maxwell Gibbes, (6 May 1916 – 11 April 2007) was an Australian fighter ace of World War II, and the longest-serving wartime commanding officer of No. 3 Squadron RAAF. He was officially credited with 10¼ aerial victories, although his score is often reported as 12, including two shared; Gibbes was also credited with five aircraft probably destroyed, and a further 16 damaged. He commanded No. 3 Squadron in North Africa from February 1942 to April 1943, apart from a brief period when he was wounded. Born in rural New South Wales, Gibbes worked as a jackaroo and salesman before joining the Royal Australian Air Force in February 1940. Robert Henry Gibbs
Robert Henry Gibbs Jr. (1929–1988) was an American ichthyologist. He was a long-standing curator at the National Museum of Natural History and devoted much of his career to the study of pelagic fish, pelagic and deep-sea fishes. He was also an avid conservation movement, conservationist and a member of the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists for over 30 years. The Society honored him posthumously with the Robert H. Gibbs Jr. Memorial Award for Excellence in Systematic Ichthyology, whose recipients have included shark authority Leonard J.V.
