	Robert Chisholm (Canadian Politician) Robert Lawrence Chisholm (born August 31, 1957 in Kentville, Nova Scotia) is a former trade unionist and politician from Nova Scotia, Canada. He represented the Halifax Atlantic riding in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1991 to 2003. He succeeded Alexa McDonough as leader of the Nova Scotia New Democratic Party (NDP) in 1996. He served as the leader of the Official Opposition in the Nova Scotia Legislature from 1998 to 1999. He subsequently founded a consulting firm, was co-chair of the 2010–11 United Way of Halifax Region campaign, and sat on the Board of Governors of Dalhousie University. On May 2, 2011, Chisholm was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Dartmouth—Cole Harbour riding in Nova Scotia. As a member of the Official Opposition, he served as the Critic for Fisheries and Oceans and Deputy Critic for Employment Insurance until his defeat in the 2015 election. 	Robert Kerr Chisholm Robert Kerr Chisholm (May 26, 1819 – February 27, 1899) was a political figure in Oakville, Ontario, serving as mayor in 1866. He was born in Nelson Township in Upper Canada in 1819, the son of William Chisholm, and was educated in Hamilton. Chisholm served as reeve of Trafalgar Township in 1854 and 1856 and served on the Oakville town council from 1857 to 1871 and 1879 to 1880. He also served as customs collector and postmaster in Oakville after his father's death in 1842; until that time, he had assisted his father with both of these functions. He died in Oakville in 1899. Early life Chisholm was born in London on 11 January 1840 (or on 3 November 1838, according to the Royal Institute of British Architects), and had his early education in the United Kingdom, practising as a talented landscape painter in London during his youth. On completion of his education, he arrived at Calcutta, India and moved to Madras in 1865, where he was appointed head of the school of industrial art. Career In that same year, 1865, Chisholm began to design the older building of Presidency College, Madras. He initially constructed buildings in the Renaissance and Gothic styles of architecture. 	Robert Chisholm (sports Administrator) Robert George Chisholm (1910 – 26 June 1998) was an Australian sports administrator. He was the manager of the Australian teams that competed at the 1952 and 1956 Winter Olympics. Australia had first competed at the 1936 Olympics before the Second World War, when one athlete participated without support staff. Australia did not compete in 1948 after the resumption of the Olympics and in 1952, support staff were present for the first time; Chisholm was the first manager of an Australian Winter Olympic team. He oversaw three figure skaters, three alpine skiers and two cross country skiers in Oslo, Norway.
