Robert Coleman Atkins (October 17, 1930 April 17, 2003) was an American physician and cardiologist, best known for the Atkins Diet, which requires close control of carbohydrate consumption and emphasizes protein and fat as the primary sources of dietary calories in addition to a controlled number of carbohydrates from vegetables. The commercial success of Atkins' diet plan led ''Time'' to name the doctor a person of the year in 2002. Robert Atkins (10 August 1886 – 9 February 1972) was an English actor, producer and director. Biography Born in Dulwich, London, England, to Annie Evans and Robert Atkins sr. He had a brother named Lawrence. Atkins was most famous for his association with the theatre. An early graduate of Beerbohm Tree's Academy of Dramatic Art, he joined the Old Vic company in 1915, and became Director of Productions for Lilian Baylis from 1921 to 1926. He also appeared many times on film and in television, though not with the success of his theatre career. His first film was a 1913 production of ''Hamlet'', as the First Player, with Johnston Forbes-Robertson in the title role. Atkins went on to appear in several other film and television roles over the next 50 years with the most famous production possibly being '' A Matter of Life and Death''. Sir Robert James Atkins (born 5 February 1946 in London) is a British Conservative politician. He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Preston North from 1979 to 1983, and then for South Ribble from 1983 to 1997. He served as Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the North West England region from 1999 to 2014. Early life Atkins was born on 5 February 1946 in London, England. Bob Atkins
Robert Gary Atkins (born 16 October 1962) is an English former footballer who played in the Football League for Sheffield United and Preston North End. Early years Atkins was originally on the books of Leicester City whom he joined straight from school. He was however released by City without playing a first team game and for a while dropped down into non-league football with Enderby Town (later Leicester United). It was while playing for Enderby that Sheffield United spotted him and after an initial trial period the 20-year-old Atkins signed a permanent deal with The Blades. Bob Atkins (American Football)
Robert Lee Atkins, Jr. (April 2, 1946 – September 22, 2020) was an American professional football player who was a defensive back in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the St. Louis Cardinals (1968-1969) and for the Houston Oilers (1970-1976). He was born on April 2, 1946, in Modesto, California, and became a native of Atlanta, Georgia. When he was three years old, his parents, U.S. Navy Sailor Robert and Mary Brown Atkins, relocated their family from California to Georgia in 1949. At Luther J. Price High School, he was an exceptional player in three sports, baseball, basketball, and football. After graduating in 1964, Atkins attended Grambling State University, in Grambling, Louisiana.
