Roadburn Festival
Roadburn Festival is an international music festival held in Tilburg, Netherlands every April since 1999. It was set up as a spin-off from the Roadburn music blog founded by Jurgen van den Brand and Walter Hoeijmakers. Originally focused on stoner rock, Roadburn grew into a major event spanning the entire spectrum of heavy rock and experimental music. The key staff involved with running the festival are Frens Frijns (managing director, CEO of Tilburg's 013 venue), Walter Hoeijmakers (promoter, artistic director) and Becky Laverty (press, communication, side programme). Since 2014, Roadburn Festival publishes a daily fanzine that is distributed freely to its attendees. James Kent (born 1993), known by his stage name Perturbator, is a French synthwave musician from Paris. Biography Kent has a background as a guitarist in several black metal bands. Since 2012, he has produced electronic music inspired by cyberpunk culture and from movies such as ''Akira'', ''Ghost in the Shell'', and ''The Running Man''. He uses a variety of software synths in his productions, such as the emulators of old vintage synths like the OB-X or the CS-80. Since his debut EP ''Night Driving Avenger'' he has released five full-length albums, the latest of which is ''Lustful Sacraments'' on the Blood Music label, and has performed several live shows. Russian Circles is an American instrumental band based in Chicago, Illinois. The band was originally formed by childhood friends Mike Sullivan and Dave Turncrantz after their previous musical projects dissolved. After parting ways with their original bass player Colin DeKuiper in 2007, the trio was rounded out by Brian Cook. The band has gained widespread recognition based on a series of critically acclaimed albums and extensive international touring. Karin Maria Erika Park (born 6 September 1978) is a Swedish-Norwegian singer-songwriter. Career Karin Park made her debut in 2003 with the single ''Superworldunknown'' (also album title). Health (often stylized as HEALTH) is an American noise rock/industrial band from Los Angeles, California. History Health was created after its members agreed the name should be an "everyday word." After reviewing a long list of terms, "health" was the only one not taken. ''Health'' Health first gained reputation through a remix of their song "Crimewave" by experimental electronic band Crystal Castles in August 2007. Alcest
Alcest is a French post-black metal band from Bagnols-sur-Cèze, founded and led by Neige (Stéphane Paut). It began in 2000 as a black metal solo project by Neige, soon a trio, but following the release of their first demo in 2001, band members Aegnor and Argoth left the band, leaving Neige as the sole member. In 2009 drummer Winterhalter from Les Discrets joined Alcest's line-up, after eight years with Neige as the sole full-time member. Since its creation, Alcest has released six studio albums and a number of EPs and split releases. Marc Veira (born 17 March 1980), better known by his stage name Flowdan, is an English grime MC and record producer from Bow and Poplar, East London. A founding member of Roll Deep, he was responsible for naming the group and remained a member until its hiatus. In 2015, he founded his own record label, SpentShell, which has since signed YGG and GHSTLY XXVII to its roster. Career A long-standing member of Roll Deep, Flowdan appears on all five of their albums.
