Rizvan Pashayev
Rizvan Pashayev (December 25, 1949 in the village of Tatar of Qubadli District – 2007?) was an Azerbaijani mathematician who was the author of more than 80 scientific works including six textbooks. In 2002 he was named as the newly created Director of Economic Information. In 2005, he was made dean of the Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics Faculty. Under his direction five students earned the title of Physics-Mathematics candidate of science, the degree of sciences. Life He finished school in Zengilan. Between 1968 and 1974 he studied at Baku State University, Faculty of Mechanism and Mathematics. After graduation he worked in a faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics. At first he started his working career as the director of an arithmetic machinery laboratory, then as a teacher, headmaster, associated professor and full professor. Qubadli District
Qubadli District ( az, Qubadlı rayonu) is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the south-west of the country and belongs to the East Zangezur Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Lachin, Khojavend, Jabrayil, Zangilan, and the Syunik Province of Armenia. Its capital and largest city is Qubadli. As of 2020, the district had a nominal population of 41,600. History The region was part of the Kurdistansky Uyezd and later the Kurdistan Okrug in the Azerbaijani SSR from 7 July 1923 to 23 July 1930. To its Kurdish population, it was known as Qûbadlî. Zengilan
Zangilan (, ; hy, Կովսական, Kovsakan) is a city in Azerbaijan and the administrative centre of the Zangilan District. It is situated along the Voghji (Okhchuchay) river. Etymology According to the Armenian historian Hovhannes Gharagyozian, the town's historical name of ''Pirchivan'', which it held until 1957 when it was renamed to Zangilan, originates from the settlement of Ashtarak mentioned by Stepanos Orbelian in his list of villages in the Kovsakan county of Syunik. The word ‘Ashtarak’ is seen as a synonym for ‘burj’ (tower/fortress) in the Armenian language. The name of the settlement next to the fortress comes from the joining of the words “Burj” + the Armenian suffix “-avan” (settlement). Thus creating “Burgi avan>Burjevan>Brjevan,” which was transformed into Pirchivan under Turkic phonetic influence. Baku State University
Baku State University (BSU) ( az, Bakı Dövlət Universiteti (BDU)) is a public university located in Baku, Azerbaijan. Established in 1919 by the Parliament of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the university started with faculties of history and philology, physics and mathematics, and law and medicine, with an initial enrollment of 1094. The first rector of BSU was V.I.Razumovsky, a former professor of surgery at Kazan University. In 1930, the government ordered the university shut down in accordance with a reorganization of higher education, and the university was replaced with the Supreme Pedagogical Institute.
