Rivière Des Prairies
The Rivière des Prairies (; ), called the Back River in English, is a delta channel of the Ottawa River in southwestern Quebec, Canada. The Kanien'kehá:ka called it ''Skowanoti'', meaning "River behind the island". The river separates the cities of Laval and Montreal. Geography Flowing west to east, the Rivière des Prairies bisects the Hochelaga Archipelago and originates in the Lake of Two Mountains. It flows on either side of Île Bizard (part of Montreal), then divides the Island of Montreal (Montreal) to the south from Île Jésus (Laval) to the north, after which it flows into the St. Lawrence River at the eastern tip of the Island of Montreal. Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles
Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles is a suburban borough (''arrondissement'') on the eastern tip of the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located at the eastern end of the Island of Montreal. Geography The borough is located at the eastern tip of the Island of Montreal. It is composed of the districts of Rivière-des-Prairies, Pointe-aux-Trembles and La Pointe-aux-Prairies, which were part of the City of Montreal prior to the 2002 municipal mergers. Prior to 2002, it was an exclave separated from the rest of Montreal by independent cities to the west. Antonio J. Barrette (May 26, 1899 – December 15, 1968) was a Quebec politician born in Joliette, Quebec, Canada. Member of the legislature Barrette ran as a Conservative candidate in the provincial district of Joliette in the 1935 election but lost. Roxboro, Quebec
Roxboro was a town on the Island of Montreal. It was founded in 1914, and ceased to exist on 1 January 2002 as a result of municipal reorganization in Quebec. Bordeaux Prison
The Bordeaux Prison (french: Prison de Bordeaux), also known as the Montreal Detention Centre, is a provincial prison in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located at 800 Gouin Boulevard, Gouin Boulevard West in the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville. The prison was built in 1908 to 1912 by architect to replace the aged Pied-du-Courant Prison. Sault-au-Récollet
Sault-au-Récollet (English: Recollet Rapids) is a neighbourhood in Montreal. It is located in the eastern edge of the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville, bordering the Rivière des Prairies. Autoroute 19 connects Sault-au-Récollet to Laval. The neighbourhood was designated as a heritage site by the City of Montreal in 1992.
