''Rise Up'' is the ninth studio album by American rock band Saliva. The record was released on April 29, 2014. It was also the last studio album by Saliva under Rum Bum Records and is the last to feature bassist Dave Novotny who was replaced by Brad Stewart. The album charted at 158 on the Billboard 200. Background The record is a re-release of their previous album '' In It to Win It''. It features all of its songs except "Animal", "Flesh", and "I.D.N.A.E". Previous vocalist Josey Scott left the band in 2012 and was replaced with Bobby Amaru. Saliva (band)
Saliva is an American rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1996. Saliva released their self-titled debut album in 1997 through Rockingchair Records, a label owned and operated by Mark Yoshida. The release was recorded and produced by Bill Pappas at Rockingchair Studios. They were signed to Island Records and went on to release their second studio album ''Every Six Seconds''. Saliva later released their third studio album titled ''Back into Your System'' in 2002, which reached No. 19 on the Billboard 200. ''Back into Your System'' launched one of Saliva's most successful songs, "Always", reaching No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Modern Rock Chart. Brad Stewart
Brad Stewart (born November 19, 1974) is an American bassist, best known for his work with hard rock bands Shinedown and Fuel. He now plays in Saliva, Society Red, and Burn Season. Career Shinedown Stewart was the second member to join Shinedown after vocalist Brent Smith. They met through a mutual friend of Smith’s A&R contact, local Jacksonville producer Pete Thornton. In March 2007, it was reported that Stewart had left Shinedown. No official statement was made, leaving fans to speculate. On September 20, 2008 on his newly-created MySpace account, Stewart posted a lengthy blog that provided information about his time with Shinedown and his controversial departure. Josey Scott
Joseph Scott Sappington (born May 3, 1972) is an American musician, best known as the former lead vocalist of the rock band Saliva. In addition to Saliva, Scott co-wrote and performed "Hero" (which was used as one of the theme songs to the 2002 film ''Spider-Man'') with Chad Kroeger of Nickelback. Career Prior to Saliva, Scott fronted a Memphis-area heavy metal band called BlackBone in the early 1990s. He also plays drums and guitar. He made a cameo appearance on Jay-Z's "Takeover" from his 2001 album ''The Blueprint''. He has also recorded with Lil Wyte ("Homicidal, Suicidal" and "Crazy"), Three 6 Mafia ("Getting Fucked Up" and "Mosh Pit"), and The X-Ecutioners ("(Even) More Human Than Human"). Ted Jensen (born September 19, 1954) is an American mastering engineer, known for having mastered many recordings, including the Eagles' ''Hotel California'', Green Day's '' American Idiot'' and Norah Jones' ''Come Away with Me''. Biography Ted Jensen was born to Carl and Margaret (Anning) Jensen, both of whom were musicians. Carl had studied at Yale University. Margaret went to Oberlin College & Conservatory and Skidmore College and was also a pilot. Carl and Margaret met on a train while going to a choral workshop. Ted has one brother, Rick, and two daughters, Kristen and Kim. While attending High School, Jensen was building his own stereo and recording equipment and began recording local bands both in the studio and at live events.
