Rimouski (electoral District)
Rimouski (also known as Rimouski—Témiscouata, Rimouski—Mitis and Rimouski-Neigette-et-la Mitis) was a federal electoral district (Canada), electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1867 to 2003. It was created by the British North America Act, 1867, ''British North America Act'', 1867 as "Rimouski" Riding (division), riding. After the 1980 Canadian federal election, 1980 federal election, it was renamed "Rimouski—Témiscouata". In 1996, it was renamed "Rimouski", and before the 1997 Canadian federal election, 1997 election, it was renamed "Rimouski—Mitis". Before the 2000 Canadian federal election, 2000 election, it was renamed "Rimouski-Neigette-et-la Mitis". It was abolished in 2003 when it was redistributed into Rimouski-Neigette—Témiscouata—Les Basques, Rimouski—Témiscouata and Matapédia—Matane ridings. Jean Auguste Ross (September 6, 1851 РFebruary 3, 1920) was a Canadians, Canadian physician and politician. Born in Rimouski, Canada East, the son of John Ross and Caroline Talbot, Ross was educated at Ste. Anne and Rimouski Seminaries. Suzanne Tremblay (; January 24, 1937 – September 26, 2020) was a Canadian politician from Quebec who served as a Bloc Québécois member of the House of Commons of Canada from 1993 to 2004. Early life Born in Montreal, Tremblay received a Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship to attend Tufts University in the United States, where she earned a Master's degree in pre-school education. She then completed a certificate in educational studies at the Université de Lyon and a certificate in child care studies at the University of London. Monique Vézina
Monique Vézina, (born July 13, 1935) is a former Canadian politician. She now works with a Non-governmental organization in the field of international development. Vézina was born in Rimouski, Quebec. Prior to entering politics, she worked for numerous community agencies in the fields of education, family services and women's rights in the Lower Saint Lawrence River valley region of Quebec. In 1976, she became chair of the ''Federation of the Caisses Populaires Desjardins'' (a credit union organization) in her region, and joined the executive of the Quebec-wide Mouvement Desjardins. From 1978 to 1982, she served as a member of the ''Conseil supérieur de l’éducation'' and as vice-president of the ''Régie de l’assurance automobile du Québec''. Eudore Allard (27 August 1915 – 17 September 2001) was a Social Credit Party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was born in Carleton-sur-Mer, Quebec and became a sales representative and hotel operator by career. Guy Leblanc
Guy LeBlanc (October 16, 1960 – April 27, 2015) was a Canadian keyboardist and composer. He led his own progressive-rock band - Nathan Mahl, and was a member of the British progressive band Camel from 2000 to 2015. He produced and released his own solo, as well as Nathan Mahl's discs, and had appeared as guest keyboardist on several other releases. Biography Born in 1960 in Moncton, New Brunswick, he began formal musical training at age four, and ended his classical piano training at age 11, in order to concentrate on composition and modern electric music. He started playing keyboards in Rock bands at 15 and co-founded Nathan Mahl at age 20 with Mark Spenard, Don Prince and Dan Lacasse. In 1991, on a dare, he released a series of recorded improvisations with two drummers, and dubbed the project Mahl Dynasty. G̩rard Ouellet (17 February 1913 Р3 April 1975) was a member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was a farmer by career. Ouellet was born in East Hartford, Connecticut, United States, the son of Emile Ouellet and Celina-Rose Berube. He was first elected as a Social Credit party candidate at the Rimouski riding in the 1963 general election after an earlier unsuccessful attempt to win the riding in the 1962 election. Gérard Légaré (11 July 1908 – 1 November 1997) was a Liberal party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was an editor, journalist, printer and publisher by career. He was born in Chicoutimi, Quebec. He was first elected at the Rimouski riding in the 1953 general election, then re-elected there for a second term in the 1957 election. In the 1958 election he was defeated by Émilien Morissette of the Progressive Conservative party, but won back the riding in the 1962 election. Joseph Herv̩ Rousseau (22 October 1877 Р5 June 1964) was an Independent Liberal member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was born in Trois-Pistoles, Quebec and became a notary by career.
