Howard Bretherton
Howard Bretherton (13 February 1890, in Tacoma, Washington – 12 April 1969, in San Diego, California) was an American film director, film editor, and the father of film editor David Bretherton. Career He began his career as a propman and then became a film editor during the early 1920s for MGM. He directed his first film, ''While London Sleeps'', in 1926, and thereafter spent more than three decades working mostly as a film director. Of the roughly 100 pictures he directed, most of them were westerns and action/adventure films. The final film he directed was ''Night Raiders (1952 film), Night Raiders'' in 1952. Afterwards, he occasionally worked as a director in television through 1958. Rick Vallin
Rick Vallin (born Eric Efron; September 24, 1919 – August 31, 1977) was an actor who appeared in more than 150 films between 1938 and 1966. Early years Born in Feodosia, in the Crimea, Russia, Vallin came to the United States at age there with his South American mother, Mrs. Nardine Thomes, on the S/S ''Muskegon'', which arrived at the Port of Boston on May 6, 1922. His father, an Imperial Army officer, was murdered by the Bolsheviks. His mother, known as Nadja Yatsenko, was a ballerina in Tsarist Russia; in the States, she was billed as a Gypsy dancer. Career In 1940, Vallin (billed as Eric Efron) acted on stage with the Hollytown Theater. He started his Hollywood career with an uncredited part in the film ''Freshman Year'' and played minor roles in feature films at various studios. Jack Ingram (actor)
John Samuel Ingram (November 15, 1902 – February 20, 1969) was an American film and television actor. He appeared in many serials and Westerns between 1935 and 1966. Biography Ingram served in the U.S. Army in France. After leaving the military, he gave up plans to study law and instead joined a traveling minstrel show. He acted in stock theater with several companies before going into film. Ingram first appeared on screen in a bit part in ''Westward Ho'' (1935). His first film credit came in the serial ''Zorro Rides Again'' (1937). In addition to acting, Ingram was a stunt man, working with horses and cars in films in the early 1930s. He was born in Frankfort, Illinois, and died in Canoga Park, California, of a heart attack. He was interred in the Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Chatsworth, California. Roy Barcroft (born Howard Harold Ravenscroft; September 7, 1902 – November 28, 1969) was an American character actor famous for playing villains in B-Westerns and other genres. From 1937 to 1957, he appeared in more than 300 films for Republic Pictures. Film critic Leonard Maltin acclaimed Barcroft as "Republic Pictures' number one bad guy". Background Barcroft was born to a farming family in Crab Orchard, Nebraska, in 1902. In 1917, at the age of 15, he joined the United States Army during World War I to fight in France, where he was wounded in action. After leaving the military, he drifted through several jobs (including ranch hand, roughneck, railroad worker and seaman) before reenlisting and being stationed in Hawaii.
