Richer, Count In Luihgau And Hainaut
Count Richar (or Richer, sometimes equated to the similar name "Richard") (died 16 October 972) was a 10th-century Lotharingian count. He had a well-attested county in the Luihgau, a territory between Liège and Aachen, and he is generally considered to have held comital status in the County of Hainaut, possibly in the area of Mons. Life After the death of Duke Godfrey, count of Hainaut and Duke of Lower Lotharingia in 964 in Italy, it has been proposed that the Emperor Otto I gave Count Richar at least part of the county of Hainault. Count Richar appears in a charter of 2 June 965 making a grant of land at St Villers St Ghislain in memory of Duke Godfrey. In 966 Count Richar was described in a royal charter, as the count holding a county in Liuhgow which included Voeren (''Furon''), and ''Cortils'' in Blegny (''Curcella''). Richer was bishop of Verdun from 1089 to 1107. Godfrey of Bouillon, Duke of Lower Lorraine, who decided to join the First Crusade ceded the County of Verdun to Richer in 1095. Edmond Richer (; 15 September 1559 – 29 November 1631) was a French theologian known for several works advocating the Gallican theory, that the Pope's power was limited by authority of bishops, and by temporal governments. Jean Richer (1630–1696) was a French astronomer and assistant (''élève astronome'') at the French Academy of Sciences, under the direction of Giovanni Domenico Cassini. Between 1671 and 1673 he performed experiments and carried out celestial observations in Cayenne, French Guiana, at the request of the French Academy. His observations and measurements of Mars during its perihelic opposition, coupled with those made simultaneously in Paris by Cassini, led to the earliest data-based estimate of the distance between Earth and Mars, which they then used to calculate the distance between the Sun and Earth (the astronomical unit). Lyse Richer (born September 11, 1939) is a Canadian administrator and teacher of music. She taught piano at both the École de musique Vincent-d'Indy and the Université de Montréal. Richer later took on administrative roles in the management of several Quebec dance and theatre companies in the 1970s and the 1980s. Paul Marie Louis Pierre Richer (17 January 1849 – 17 December 1933) was a French anatomist, physiologist, sculptor, medallist, and anatomical artist who was a native of Chartres. He was a professor of artistic anatomy at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, as well as a member of the Académie Nationale de Médecine (1898). Richer was an assistant to Jean-Martin Charcot at the Salpêtrière, and from 1882 to 1896 was chief of the laboratory at the Salpêtrière Hospital. With Charcot he performed research of hysteria and epilepsy, and also performed studies of medicine and its relationship to art. In 1903, Richer was appointed to the chair of artistic anatomy at the École des Beaux-Arts, and in 1907-08 was president of the ''Société Française d'Histoire de la Médecine'' (French Society for the History of Medicine). Robert G Richer was the associate deputy director of operations of the United States Central Intelligence Agency, the number two in clandestine service, responsible for human intelligence operations overseas. Stéphane Jean-Gilles Richer (born April 28, 1966) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who is currently serving as sport director at Eisbären Berlin of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Playing career Richer spent most of his professional career playing in the minors, but did play parts of three seasons in the NHL with the Tampa Bay Lightning ( 1992–93), Boston Bruins (1992–93), Florida Panthers ( 1993–94 and 1994–95). He played in 27 NHL games; his NHL totals include one goal, five assists, six points and 20 penalty minutes. Richer left North America in 1995 to play for Adler Mannheim in Germany.
