Richard Robson (politician)
Richard Robson (15 March 1867 – 30 November 1928) was a member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly who resigned in 1900 after making unsubstantiated allegations of corruption against the government of the day. Early life Richard Robson was born at Tynemouth, Northumberland, England on 15 March 1867. He was educated at Mill Hill School in London. In 1887 he emigrated to Western Australia, working as a jackaroo in the Murchison district until after 1890. By 1895 he was in business at Geraldton as a commission and mining agent. That year he married Clara Hosken; they would have five children. In 1898 he was vice-President of the Geraldton Chamber of Commerce. Political life On 12 July 1899, Robson was elected to the Legislative Assembly seat of Geraldton in the by-election caused by the forced resignation of George Simpson (who had been declared bankrupt). Richard Robson (chemist)
Richard Robson (born 4 June 1937) is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Melbourne. Robson has published over 200 articles, specialising in coordination polymers, particularly metal-organic frameworks. He has been described as "a pioneer in crystal engineering involving transition metals". Education Robson was born in Glusburn in West Yorkshire in the UK, and read chemistry at the University of Oxford (BA 1959, DPhil 1962). He undertook postdoctoral research at California Institute of Technology 1962-64 and at Stanford University 1964-65, before receiving a Lectureship in chemistry at the University of Melbourne 1966-70 where he remained for the duration of his career. Recognition Professor Robson is a recipient of the prestigious Burrows Award, Inorganic Division of The Royal Australian Chemical Institute 1998 and was made a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science 2000. "Imagination" is a 2008 song American musician Jes, who co-wrote the track with her partners from Motorcycle, Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden and co-produced it with Richard Robson. The track is featured on her 2007 debut studio album '' Disconnect'' and a chill-out version is on her 2008 compilation album '' Into the Dawn (The Hits Disconnected)''. The track itself is a newly recorded version of an original that was recorded in 2004 as a Motorcycle single when Brieden was still a member. It has also been featured as a track on Tiësto's ''In Search of Sunrise 6'' mixed compilation set, and in an acoustic version on Gabriel & Dresden's album ''Bloom''. Richard Bateman-Robson
Richard Bateman-Robson (1753–1827), of Manchester Square, Middlesex and Weybridge, Surrey, was an English politician. He was born the younger son of Henry Holland, a builder of Church Row, Fulham, Middlesex. His elder brother was Henry Holland, the well-known architect and son in law of Lancelot "Capability" Brown, through his marriage to Brown's eldest daughter, Bridget. Richard married Elizabeth, the daughter and heiress of solicitor Bateman Robson of Hartford, Huntingdonshire and took the surnames of Bateman Robson by royal licence in 1791. They had no children. By 1795 he had bought from the 5th Duke of Bedford an estate at Okehampton which gave him control over one of the borough's parliamentary seats and was returned unopposed the following year. He was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Okehampton from 1796 to 1802 and 1806 to 1807, for Honiton on 11 April 1806 – 1806 and for Shaftesbury in 1812 – 19 February 1813.
