Richard Lynch (Welsh Actor)
Richard Lynch is a Welsh television and film actor best known for playing the character of Garry Monk in S4C's long-running Welsh-language soap ''Pobol y Cwm''. Early life Lynch is an alumnus of Ysgol Gyfun Rhydfelen, a Welsh Medium comprehensive school near Pontypridd. He graduated with in Drama from Aberystwyth University in 1987. Career Lynch first came to prominence in the 1986 Karl Francis' film ''Milwr Bychan'' playing young soldier ''Will Thomas''. Further film appearances include ''Branwen'' (1994), '' Darklands'' (1996), ''The Proposition'' (1997), and ''Y Mabinogi'' (2003). Lynch starred in numerous television productions and series, including ''The Christmas Stallion'' (1992), ''The Lifeboat'' (1994), ''Tales from Pleasure Beach'' (2001) and Hinterland/Y Gwyll. ''Eight Men Out'' is a 1988 American sports drama film based on Eliot Asinof's 1963 book ''Eight Men Out: The Black Sox and the 1919 World Series''. It was written and directed by John Sayles. Welsh ( or ) is a Celtic language of the Brittonic subgroup that is native to the Welsh people. ''A Mind to Kill'' is a Welsh television police detective series, that developed from a feature-length pilot episode first broadcast in 1991. The series stars Philip Madoc as protagonist DCI Noel Bain. Four series were broadcast between 1994 and 2002, though the Christmas special is sometimes counted as a separate series, bringing the total to five. The show first aired as ''Yr Heliwr'' on S4C, before being broadcast on Channel 5 in the UK. The series was filmed in both English and in Welsh, with each scene being shot first in one language and then in the other. The series has since been dubbed into more than a dozen languages and shown all over the world. The series is set in South Wales, and features a variety of post-industrial, rural, urban and seaside landscapes. The pilot episode was filmed in the Aberystwyth area. ''Dangerfield'' is a British television medical drama series, first broadcast on BBC One, which described the activities of small-town doctor and police surgeon Paul Dangerfield, played by Nigel Le Vaillant. The series places particular emphasis on Dangerfield's constant struggle to manage the conflicting demands of his two jobs, to come to terms with the death of his wife Celia in a car accident a few years earlier, and to bring up his two initially teenaged, but later grown up, children, Alison and Marty. The Lifeboat
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is the largest charity that saves lives at sea around the coasts of the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man, as well as on some inland waterways.
