Richard Leonard (Canadian Football)
Richard Leonard (born September 2, 1991) is an American professional football defensive back for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at FIU. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans in 2016. Early life Leonard attended Miami Killian High School, where he holds records in football and track and field. College career Leonard committed to FIU on September 30, 2009. With the Panthers, he starred as both a cornerback and kick returner. He was named a first-team All-Conference USA selection at cornerback and punt returner. Professional career Houston Texans Leonard was not selected in the 2016 NFL draft and signed a contract as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans on May 5, 2016. In gridiron football, defensive backs (DBs), also called the secondary, are the players on the defensive side of the ball who play farthest back from the line of scrimmage. They are distinguished from the other two sets of defensive players, the defensive linemen who play directly on the line of scrimmage, and the linebackers, who play in the middle of the defense, between the defensive line and the defensive backs. Kick Returner
A return specialist or kick returner is a player on the special teams unit of a gridiron football team who specializes in returning punts and kickoffs. There are few players who are exclusively return specialists; most also play another position such as wide receiver, defensive back, or running back. The special teams counterpart of a return specialist is a kicking specialist. According to All-American Venric Mark, "Returning punts is harder. Jeremiah McKinnon (born June 29, 1993) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League for the Tennessee Titans, New York Giants, Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles. He also was a member of the New York Guardians in the XFL. He played college football at Florida International University. Early years McKinnon attended Miami Southridge, where he played as a quarterback, wide receiver and kick returner. CFL East Division
The East Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League, its counterpart being the West Division. Although the CFL was not founded until 1958, the East Division and its clubs are descended from earlier leagues. The four teams in the division are the Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Montreal Alouettes, and Ottawa Redblacks.
