Richard Johns (racing Driver)
Richard Johns (born October 23, 1981) is an American professional race car driver from Lawrenceville, Georgia. He is currently racing in the Georgia Asphalt Series and the Camping World East Series. Johns also works as an engineering consultant for several teams in NASCAR. Pre-NASCAR Johns began racing in go-karts at the age of nine, Johns spent time on the go-kart dirt tracks throughout Georgia and the southeast. Moving up, he competed in the PARTS, the GAS and the ARCA RE/MAX Series. Along the way, Johns met Bobby Hamilton, who would be his mentor throughout his career. Entry into NASCAR Johns attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte while an employee at Team Rensi Motorsports. Lawrenceville is a city in and the county seat of Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States. It is a suburb of Atlanta, located approximately northeast of downtown. The ARCA Menards Series is an American stock car series, the premier division of the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA). It is considered a minor, semi-professional league of stock car racing, used as a feeder series into the three national touring series of NASCAR, and hosts events at a variety of track types including superspeedways, road courses, and dirt tracks. Speedweeks
Daytona Speedweeks presented by AdventHealth is a series of racing events that take place during January and February at Daytona International Speedway. Traditionally leading up to the Daytona 500, in 2021 it concluded with the Daytona road course race. Nearby tracks New Smyrna Speedway and Volusia County Speedway also run special events during the period. There is also a Monster Jam event held at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida. In 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic Monster Energy Supercross raced at Camping World Stadium in Orlando which is about an hour South of the speedway. Yates Racing was an American stock car racing team that competed in NASCAR through the 2009 season, after which it merged into Richard Petty Motorsports. David Gilliland
David Leonard Gilliland (born April 1, 1976) is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. Since 2017, he has operated David Gilliland Racing, a team that races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, ARCA Menards Series, and CARS Tour. Formerly a full-time competitor for a decade in the NASCAR Cup Series, he is now semi-retired and competes part-time in the Truck Series (in the No. 17 Ford F-150) and the ARCA Menards Series East and West, driving for his team.
