Richard Jackson (Coleraine MP)
Richard Jackson ( – 23 October 1789) was an Irish politician. He sat in the House of Commons of Ireland from 1751 to 1789, as one of the two members for the borough of Coleraine. He was twice elected for another borough — Lisburn in 1776 and Randalstown Randalstown is a townland and small town in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, between Antrim and Toome. House Of Commons Of Ireland
The Irish House of Commons was the lower house of the Parliament of Ireland that existed from 1297 until 1800. The upper house was the House of Lords. The membership of the House of Commons was directly elected, but on a highly restrictive franchise, similar to the unreformed House of Commons in contemporary England and Great Britain. Catholics were disqualified from sitting in the Irish parliament from 1691, even though they comprised the vast majority of the Irish population. The Irish executive, known as the Dublin Castle administration, under the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, was not answerable to the House of Commons but to the British government. However, the Chief Secretary for Ireland was usually a member of the Irish parliament. In the Commons, business was presided over by the Speaker. Arthur Wolfe, 1st Viscount Kilwarden
Arthur Wolfe, 1st Viscount Kilwarden (19 January 1739 – 23 July 1803) was an Anglo-Irish peer, politician and judge, who held office as Lord Chief Justice of Ireland. He was assassinated during the Irish rebellion of 1803. Early life Arthur Wolfe was born at Forenaughts House, near Naas, being the eighth of nine sons born to John Wolfe (1700–1760) and his wife Mary (d. 1763), the only child and heiress of William Philpot, a successful merchant at Dublin. One of his brothers, Peter, was the High Sheriff of Kildare, and his first cousin Theobald was the father of the poet Charles Wolfe. Career Wolfe was educated at Trinity College Dublin - where he was elected a Scholar - and at the Middle Temple in London. He was called to the Irish Bar in 1766.
