Richard Watson Dickson
Richard Watson Dickson (9 November 1759 – 17 September 1824) was a physician and agriculturalist. Biography Dickson was born 9 November 1759 at Warton, Carnforth, Lancashire. He was the eldest son of William and Mary Watson. He married Elizabeth Parkinson on 16 April 1785. She died young and there were no children. Watson studied medicine and graduated as M.D. from St Andrew's University, Aberdeen on 25 May 1787. At the time of his second marriage to Lucretia Morris on 24 January 1789 at Saint Benet, Gracechurch Street, London, he was described as being of Birmingham. Between 1790 and 1799 the couple had six children. Watson and his family initially lived at London Charterhouse, where he may have practised as a doctor, but in about 1798 they moved to Hendon, Middlesex. Watson became interested in agriculture and wrote extensively about it. However, by 1812 he got into financial difficulties and was committed to the King's Bench debtors' prison. Rick Dickson
Rick Dickson (born June 14, 1954) is in his 2nd stint as the athletic director at Tulsa. He previously served as the AD at Tulane University from 2000 through 2015. After taking over in 2000, Tulane teams have since won nine Conference USA Championships. They have advanced to NCAA postseason play 15 times (counting three NCAA Tournament appearances each by the Green Wave women's basketball and men's tennis teams). Tulane advanced to the College World Series in 2001 and 2005. During his administration the Tulane Green Wave became a member of the American Athletic Conference, leaving Conference USA. Dickson is a graduate of Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the University of Tulsa. Prior to Tulane, he was athletic director for six years at Washington State University in Pullman. Richard and Robert Dickson (usually simply referred to as R & R Dickson) were brothers, acting as architects in Scotland in the early and mid-19th century. Whilst most of their work is typified by remote country houses they are best known for their magnificent spire on the Tron Kirk in the heart of Edinburgh on the Royal Mile.
