The Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science (RDFRS or RDF) is a division of Center for Inquiry (CFI) founded by British biologist Richard Dawkins in 2006 to promote scientific literacy and secularism. Originally a non-profit based in Washington, D.C., the organization merged with CFI in 2016. Richard Dawkins
Richard Dawkins (born 26 March 1941) is a British evolutionary biologist and author. He is an emeritus fellow of New College, Oxford and was Professor for Public Understanding of Science in the University of Oxford from 1995 to 2008. An atheist, he is well known for his criticism of creationism and intelligent design. Dawkins first came to prominence with his 1976 book ''The Selfish Gene'', which popularised the gene-centred view of evolution and introduced the term '' meme''. Todd M. Thomsen (born June 24, 1967) is a former Republican politician from the U.S. state of Oklahoma. Anti-evolution
Objections to evolution have been raised since evolutionary ideas came to prominence in the 19th century. Published five years after Dawkins's previous book ''Unweaving the Rainbow'', it contains essays covering subjects including pseudoscience, genetic determinism, memetics, terrorism, religion and creationism.
