Rice Strait
Rice Strait is a narrow waterway between Ellesmere Island's eastern coast and Pim Island in northern Canada's territory of Nunavut. It connects Rosse Bay on the south with Buchanan Bay to the north. The Rice (Houston)
The Rice, formerly the Rice Hotel, is an historic building at 909 Texas Avenue in Downtown Houston, Texas, United States. The current building is the third to occupy the site. It was completed in 1913 on the site of the former Capitol building of the Republic of Texas, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The old Capitol building was operated as a hotel until it was torn down and replaced by a new hotel around 1881. Jesse H. Jones built a new seventeen-story, double-winged hotel in 1913, also called "The Rice Hotel." This building underwent major expansions: adding a third wing in 1925, adding an eighteenth floor in 1951, and adding a five-story "motor lobby" in 1958. In addition, there were several renovations during its life as a hotel. It continued to operate as a hotel before finally shutting down in 1977. Rice (band)
Rice (styled as rice) are a Japanese visual kei rock band formed by ex-Raphael members Yuki and Hiro. Like Raphael, a lot of rice's music is in the rock genre although instead of guitar the cello is a much more prominent instrument in their work. The band, although not as visual as they used to be in Raphael, still keep a very distinct fashion from that of a lot of other bands. Rice College
Rice College (Coláiste an Rísigh in Irish) is a secondary school in Ennis, County Clare, Ireland founded in 1826. It is also a Congregation of Christian Brothers, C.B.S with a house on the property where "Brothers" still reside. No Brothers teach in the secondary school but it was previously run by the religious order. It was formerly an all-boys school, although girls were first admitted to repeat their Irish Leaving Certificate, leaving certificate examinations in 1985, it became coeducational in 1997. In 2006 construction started on an extension and was completed in early 2007. The school offers a wide range of subjects for students to choose from and since 2019 have required first years to choose a language and 2 optional subjects before they arrive. Rice University athletic teams are known as the Rice Owls. The name comes from the owls in Rice's crest. Rice participates in NCAA Division I athletics. A member of Conference USA, Rice sponsors teams in seven men's and seven women's NCAA sanctioned sports. Rice was a member of the Southwest Conference until its breakup in 1996. Rice then joined the Western Athletic Conference before joining C-USA on July 1, 2005, and has since announced it will move to the American Athletic Conference in 2023. The women's swimming team moved to The American in 2022 after C-USA dropped women's swimming & diving.
