Ricardo Nascimento (Brazilian Footballer)
Ricardo dos Santos Nascimento (born 7 February 1987), simply known as Ricardo Nascimento is a Brazilian footballer playing for Royal AM F.C. as a defender. Club career After an unsuccessful spell at Palmeiras, he joined Olé Brasil in 2008. Nascimento spent the following seasons on loan at Penafiel followed by Portimonense. He then returned to Brazil before embracing Romanian football with Astra Giurgiu. He again spent the 2012–2013 season with Portimonense. It was followed by another loan spell with Moreirense. In 2014, he entered Primeira Liga with Académica. In 2016, Nascimento moved to South Africa to play for the Mamelodi Sundowns. After six years, he moved to Durban-based Premier Division rivals Royal AM F.C. Nascimento has played in 116 South African Premier Division matches as of 29 December 2023. 2017 CAF Super Cup
The 2017 CAF Super Cup (officially the 2017 Total CAF Super Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 25th CAF Super Cup, an annual football match in Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), between the winners of the previous season's two CAF club competitions, the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. The match was played between Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, the 2016 CAF Champions League winners, and TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup winners. It was hosted by Mamelodi Sundowns at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on 18 February 2017. Mamelodi Sundowns defeated TP Mazembe 1–0 to win their first CAF Super Cup. The CAF Super Cup (also known as African Super Cup or for sponsorship reasons TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup) is an annual African association football competition contested between the winners of the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. The competition was first held in 1993 and is organized by the CAF. Egyptian clubs have the highest number of victories (12 titles), followed by Morocco with 5. The Telkom Knockout was a South African professional football knockout competition which comprised the 16 teams in the South African Premier Soccer League. The competition was established in 1982 and was first known as the Datsun Challenge. Under the new NSL regime in 1984, it became known as the ''JPS Knockout Cup''. It used this name until 1992 when it became known as the ''Coca-Cola Cup''. It was sponsored by the drinks manufacturer until 1996, when it was replaced by the ''Rothmans Cup'' which was changed back to the ''Coca-Cola Cup'' in 2001 due to the new rules regarding tobacco sponsorship in sport. Telkom became the new sponsors in 2006. In all matches there had to be a winner on the day, this will be decided if there is a winner after full-time (90 minutes). The Nedbank Cup is the current name of South Africa's Premier Soccer League, premier club association football, soccer knockout tournament. While many formats have been used over the years, the tournament has always been based on the idea of giving lower league and amateur teams a chance to compete with clubs from the top league for the cup. The tournament is based on the English FA Cup, which has become known for "giant killings" (lower league clubs defeating a top-flight club).
