Rhode Island's 3rd congressional district is an obsolete district. It had a short tenure (1913–1933). In its final configuration, it covered Providence and most of its inner ring suburbs. It was eliminated after the 1930 census and split between the 1st and 2nd districts. Rhode Island Route 3
Route 3 is a state highway in the U.S. state of Rhode Island. Route 3 serves as a local alternative to Interstate 95 (I-95) as it parallels I-95 for almost its entire length. Route 3 in West Warwick was the site of The Station nightclub fire. Route description Route 3 starts at US 1 in Westerly. It begins heading north, and it has a partial interchange with the Westerly Bypass. Route 3 continues north, intersects I-95 at exit 1, and turns to the northeast to parallel I-95. After two more interchanges with I-95, Route 3 passes through downtown Coventry. Continuing east into West Warwick, Route 3 terminates at Route 2 on the West Warwick/Warwick town line. Louis Monast
Louis Monast (July 1, 1863April 16, 1936) was a U.S. Representative from Rhode Island. Monast was born in Marieville in the Province of Canada (now Quebec). In the spring of 1865, he immigrated to the United States with his father, who settled in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He attended parochial and night schools. He was employed in the textile mills from 1872 to 1882 and as a bricklayer, plasterer, and carpenter from 1882 to 1892. He engaged in building construction and in the real estate business in 1892, and also operated several bakeries. He served as member of the State house of representatives 1909–1911. He served as delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1924. He was an unsuccessful candidate for election in 1924 to the Sixty-ninth Congress. Central Falls, Rhode Island
Central Falls is a city in Providence County, Rhode Island, United States. The population was 22,583 at the 2020 census. With an area of only , it is the smallest and most densely populated city in the smallest state, and the 27th most densely populated incorporated place in the United States. It is also one of only four incorporated places in New England that have a higher population density than the city of Boston (ranking fourth, behind the Massachusetts cities of Somerville, Chelsea and Cambridge, all inner suburbs of Boston). The city takes its name from a waterfall on the Blackstone River. In May 2010, Central Falls went into receivership, then filed for bankruptcy August 1, 2011. The Rhode Island Superior Court is the State court (United States), state trial court of general jurisdiction in Rhode Island. The 1928 United States House of Representatives elections was an election for the United States House of Representatives in 1928 which coincided with the election of President Herbert Hoover. The strength of the U.S. economy resulted in Hoover's Republican Party victory in the election, helping them to scoop up 32 House seats, almost all from the opposition Democratic Party, thus increasing their majority. The big business-supported wing of the Republican Party continued to cement control. Republican gains proved even larger than anticipated during this election cycle, as an internal party feud over the Prohibition issue weakened Democratic standing. Losses of several rural, Protestant Democratic seats can be somewhat linked to anti-Catholic sentiments directed toward the party's presidential candidate, Al Smith.
