Rey De Reyes (2009)
The Rey de Reyes 2009 (Spanish for "King of Kings") was a major annual professional wrestling show that also hosted that year's version of the Rey de Reyes tournament, produced by the Mexican wrestling promotion AAA. Rey de Reyes 2009 was a major professional wrestling event produced by AAA, which took place on March 15, 2009 at the Plaza de Toros Nuevo Progresso Bullfighting arena in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The event was the 13th event produced under the Rey de Reyes name and also the 13th time that the Rey de Reyes tournament was held. Electroshock won the tournament, while El Mesias successfully defended the AAA Mega Championship against Chessman. The event also saw the surprise debuts of Marco Corleone and Dr. Wagner Jr. as well as the surprise return of Juventud Guerrera to the promotion. Gilbert Cosme Ramírez (born May 25, 1972) is a Puerto Rican professional wrestler, better known by his ring names El Mesías, Mil Muertes, Ricky Banderas and King Muertes. He began his career in the International Wrestling Association based in Puerto Rico. While performing in the company, he won the IWA World Heavyweight Championship on five instances and held minor championships on fifteen separate occasions, before leaving the company in 2006. Erick Aguilar Muñoz (born February 24, 1987) is a Mexican ''luchador'' (professional wrestler) better known by the ring name Super Fly. He worked for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) since 2005 until 2021. Octagón
Juan Escalera (born March 27, 1961) is a Mexican luchador enmascarado (masked professional wrestler) better known as Octagón. He is best known for working for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), having worked for the company since it was founded in 1992. In 2011 he was inducted into the promotion's Hall of Fame. Octagón formed a tag team with El Hijo Del Santo to take on Los Gringos Locos (Eddie Guerrero and Art Barr) in a double mask versus hair match on the first pay-per-view put on by a Mexican wrestling promotion to air in the United States. Alan Stone (born May 23, 1977) is a Mexican professional wrestler who has competed in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre since the late 1990s. The son of ''luchador'' El Bello Greco, he is a second-generation wrestler along with his brothers Super Calo and Chris Stone with whom he teams with as Los Bellos Stones. César Cuauhtémoc González Barrón (9 January 1968 – 11 May 2019) was a Mexican '' luchador enmascarado'' (masked wrestler) and actor. He was known best as Silver King, but also had an extensive stint as the third wrestler to portray the Black Tiger character. In professional wrestling, a face (babyface) is a heroic, "good guy" or "fan favorite" wrestler, booked (scripted) by the promotion with the aim of being cheered by fans, and acts as a protagonist to the heels, who are the villainous antagonist or "bad guy" characters. Traditionally, they wrestle within the rules and avoid cheating (in contrast to the villains who use illegal moves and call in additional wrestlers to do their work for them) while behaving positively towards the referee and the audience. In professional wrestling, a heel (also known as a ''rudo'' in '' lucha libre'') is a wrestler who portrays a villain, "bad guy", or "rulebreaker", and acts as an antagonist to the faces, who are the heroic protagonist or "good guy" characters. Not everything a heel wrestler does must be villainous: heels need only to be booed or jeered by the audience to be effective characters, although most truly successful heels embrace other aspects of their devious personalities, such as cheating to win or using foreign objects. AAA Reina De Reinas Championship
The AAA Reina de Reinas Championship (literally "AAA Queen of Queens Championship", "AAA Women's Championship") is a singles women's professional wrestling championship promoted by Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). It is the only females championship currently in AAA. Being a professional wrestling championship, it is not won legitimately; it is instead won via a scripted ending to a match or awarded to a wrestler because of a storyline. From its creation in 1999 to 2009, the title was put on the line every year during the eponymous "Reina de Reinas" tournament, in addition to traditional defenses. Lucha Libre
Lucha libre (, meaning "freestyle wrestling" or literally translated as "free fight") is the term used in Latin America for professional wrestling. Since its introduction to Mexico in the early 20th century, it has developed into a unique form of the genre, characterized by colorful masks, rapid sequences of holds and maneuvers, and "high-flying" maneuvers, some of which have been adopted in the United States, Japan, and elsewhere. The wearing of masks has developed special significance, and matches are sometimes contested in which the loser must permanently remove his mask, which is a wager with a high degree of weight attached.
