In political science, a revolution (Latin: ''revolutio'', "a turn around") is a fundamental and relatively sudden change in political power and political organization which occurs when the population revolts against the government, typically due to perceived oppression (political, social, economic) or political incompetence. Revolutions have occurred throughout human history and vary widely in terms of methods, duration, and motivating ideology. Their results include major changes in culture, economy, and socio-political institutions, usually in response to perceived overwhelming autocracy or plutocracy. ''Revolutions'' is the third studio album by New York City DJ group The X-Ecutioners. The album was released on June 8, 2004 through Sony Records, and was produced by three members of The X-Ecutioners, including Rob Swift, Total Eclipse, and Roc Raida. History The album was semi-successful making it to #118 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and #50 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Three singles were released "Live from the PJs", "Like This" and "Back to Back". This would mark Rob Swift's last studio album with the group before he left in 2005 to focus on his solo career. "Like This" was also featured in SSX 3. Guest appearances on the album include Blue Man Group, Ghostface Killah, Trife, Scram Jones, Saigon, Cypress Hill, Rob Zombie, Slug, Josey Scott, Dead Prez, Fat Joe and Aasim. "Let's Go", a collaboration with Good Charlotte, was recorded but was not featured on the album. However, the song appeared in the video game ''NFL Street''. ''Revolutions'' is the debut album by Finnish rock band Blind Channel. The album was released on 1 October 2016, with recording starting in October 2015 with the help of Jonas Olsson, and ended a year later. The album consists of 11 songs, one of which is the cover of the song "Don't" by Ed Sheeran. The album received generally positive reviews, with Finnish publications such as Soundi and KaaosZine giving it high praise, among other review sources. Singles The first single from the album, "Unforgiving", was released on 12 June 2015, and later re-recorded and added to the album's tracklist. Revolutions (podcast)
Michael William Duncan is an American political history podcaster and author. A self-described "complete history geek", his love for history grew from an interest in ancient civilizations as a child, with a particular affinity for Roman history. After not finding any Roman history podcasts in 2007, Duncan began ''The History of Rome'', a narrative podcast chronicling events from the founding of Rome until the collapse of the Western Roman Empire. The podcast concluded in 2012. A year later he began ''Revolutions'', which ran for ten seasons over the course of nine years, covering the American, French, and Russian revolutions, among others. The series' main narrative ended in July 2022. In addition to podcasting, Duncan is the author of two historical books. In 2017, Duncan wrote ''The Storm Before the Storm'', which was well reviewed and appeared on ''The New York Times'' Best Seller List. ''The Matrix Revolutions'' is a 2003 American science fiction action film written and directed by the Wachowskis. It is the third installment in ''The Matrix'' film series, released six months following ''The Matrix Reloaded''.
