Paoua
Paoua is a town located in the Central African Republic prefecture of Ouham-Pendé. History Paoua and its surrounding territories have become something of a ghost town after rebel and government soldier attacks in 2006 and 2007, with much of the population fleeing into the bush or into refugee camps. On 28 March 2013 Paoua was captured by Séléka rebels. In January 2014 the town was captured by rebels from Revolution and Justice group. Ouham is one of the 16 prefectures of the Central African Republic. Its capital is Bossangoa. Geography The prefecture is in the north-west of the Central African Republic. Central African Patriotic Movement (MPC, french: Mouvement patriotique pour la Centrafrique) is a rebel group in the Central African Republic based in nortwestern part of the country. History MPC was formed in July 2015 by Mahamat Al-Khatim. In October 2016 they were accused in taking part in attack which killed 37 civilians, however Al-Khatim denied these claims. Beboura
Beboura is a village located in the Central African Republic Prefectures of the Central African Republic, prefecture of Ouham-Pende on the road between Paoua and Nanga-Boguila. History In late 2005 Beboura was captured by People's Army for the Restoration of Democracy (CAR), People's Army for the Restoration of Democracy (APRD) with 420 to 570 fighters being stationed there. On 24 December 2013 rebel group Revolution and Justice attacked Beboura killing 45 Séléka fighters. As of June 2017 the town was reportedly under joint control of RJ and Central African Patriotic Movement (MPC). On 9 January 2020 MINUSCA forces withdrew from Beboura in Ouham Pende after a crowd destroyed their base following a road accident. It was subsequently captured by MPC on 25 June.
