Reversion (2012 Film)
''Reversion'' is an animated short film directed by Giancarlo Ng and produced by ''The Magic Movie Machine'', a self-described collaborative animation team. The 11-minute short film was created using Blender. ''Reversion'' was awarded Best Design at the 2012 Suzanne Awards and Best in Technical Quality at Animahenasyon 2012. The short film was also named as a Division II winner at Asiagraph 2013 held in Tokyo, Japan. Plot The short film opens with an unidentified soldier infiltrating the facilities of a company known as 'Ethercorp'. Though the lobby is badly damaged, a still-functional computer display reveals the facility to be a medical research centre, located in the Congo. The soldier's helmet also bears Ethercorp's logo. As the soldier downloads tracking software from the computer, a reptilian creature lurks in the shadows above. Just before the creature strikes, the tracking software warns the soldier of its presence, and the creature flees under gunfire. The soldier ...

Short Film
A short film is any motion picture that is short enough in running time not to be considered a feature film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences defines a short film as "an original motion picture that has a running time of 40 minutes or less, including all credits". In the United States, short films were generally termed short subjects from the 1920s into the 1970s when confined to two 35 mm reels or less, and featurettes for a film of three or four reels. "Short" was an abbreviation for either term. The increasingly rare industry term "short subject" carries more of an assumption that the film is shown as part of a presentation along with a feature film. Short films are often screened at local, national, or international film festivals and made by independent filmmakers with either a low budget or no budget at all. They are usually funded by film grants, nonprofit organizations, sponsor, or personal funds. Short films are generally used for industry experience and ...

Congo (area)
The Congo Basin (french: Bassin du Congo) is the sedimentary basin of the Congo River. The Congo Basin is located in Central Africa, in a region known as west equatorial Africa. The Congo Basin region is sometimes known simply as the Congo. It contains some of the largest tropical rainforests in the world and is an important source of water used in agriculture and energy generation. The rainforest in the Congo Basin is the largest rainforest in Africa and second only to the Amazon rainforest in size, with 300 million hectares compared to the 800 million hectares in the Amazon. Because of its size and diversity, many experts have characterized the basin's forest as important for mitigating climate change because of its role as a carbon sink. However, deforestation and degradation of the ecology by the impacts of climate change may increase stress on the forest ecosystem, in turn making the hydrology of the basin more variable. A 2012 study found that the variability in precipita ...

The ''James Bond'' film series celebrated its 50th anniversary and released its 23rd film, ''Skyfall''. Six box-office blockbusters from previous years (''Beauty and the Beast'', '' Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace'', ''Titanic'', ''Raiders of the Lost Ark'', ''Finding Nemo'', and ''Monsters, Inc.'') were re-released in 3D and IMAX. 2010s Science Fiction Adventure Films
1 (one, unit, unity) is a number representing a single or the only entity. 1 is also a numerical digit and represents a single unit of counting or measurement. For example, a line segment of ''unit length'' is a line segment of length 1. In conventions of sign where zero is considered neither positive nor negative, 1 is the first and smallest positive integer. It is also sometimes considered the first of the infinite sequence of natural numbers, followed by  2, although by other definitions 1 is the second natural number, following  0. The fundamental mathematical property of 1 is to be a multiplicative identity, meaning that any number multiplied by 1 equals the same number. Most if not all properties of 1 can be deduced from this. In advanced mathematics, a multiplicative identity is often denoted 1, even if it is not a number. 1 is by convention not considered a prime number; this was not universally accepted until the mid-20th century. Additionally, 1 is the s ...

Biopunk Films
Biopunk (a portmanteau of "biotechnology" or "biology" and "punk") is a subgenre of science fiction that focuses on biotechnology. It is derived from cyberpunk, but focuses on the implications of biotechnology rather than mechanical cyberware and information technology. Biopunk is concerned with synthetic biology. It is derived of cyberpunk involving bio-hackers, biotech megacorporations, and oppressive government agencies that manipulate human DNA. Most often keeping with the dark atmosphere of cyberpunk, biopunk generally examines the dark side of genetic engineering and represents the low side of biotechnology. Description Biopunk is a subgenre of science fiction closely related to cyberpunk that focuses on the near-future (most often unintended) consequences of the biotechnology revolution following the invention of recombinant DNA. Biopunk stories explore the struggles of individuals or groups, often the product of human experimentation, against a typically dystopian bac ...
