Retard Disco
Retard Disco is an American, Los Angeles-based record label. The label launched with two debut releases by 14 Year Old Girls and Hawnay Troof in 2003. The label subsequently released over two dozen records by artists including Partyline, Epsilons, The Younger Lovers, Bark Bark Bark and more. Henry Rollins has been a vocal fan of the label, frequently playing Retard Disco releases on his radio show and citing the label, alongside Dischord, Ipecac, and Matador, as his favorites. The label first gained attention when the band 14 Year Old Girls performed live on national TV, on Tech TV's X-Play and G4 TV's The Screen Savers and Players. The band was written up in '' GamePRO'', '' EGM'', ''GameNOW'' and more, played shows with Gravy Train!!!!, Pansy Division and The Briggs. Southern Records
Founded 1992 by John Loder, Southern Records is an independent record label (Loder also ran the recording facility Southern Studios). It is based in London and until 2008 had offices in the United States, France and Berlin. The label is closely associated with Crass Records, Corpus Christi Records and Dischord Records. History Background Southern Studios was a recording label owned and operated by John Loder from the 1970's until his death. Loder became friends with musician Penny Rimbaud and collaborated with him in an experimental band called EXIT. Rimbaud later formed anarchist punk band Crass, and Loder and his Southern Studios were chosen to record their first album ''The Feeding of the 5000''. ''Electronic Gaming Monthly'' (often abbreviated to ''EGM'') is a monthly American video game magazine. It offers video game news, coverage of industry events, interviews with gaming figures, editorial content and product reviews. History The magazine was founded in 1988 as U.S. National Video Game Team's ''Electronic Gaming Monthly'' under Sendai Publications. Manda Rin
Manda Rin (real name Amanda MacKinnon, born 22 March 1977) is a Scottish singer, artist and songwriter. She is the singer and keyboard player of the Scottish indie rock band Bis, later fronted the Kitchen and also released a solo album. She also co-hosted a radio show on BBC Scotland called ''Air''. Rin was the only person ever to appear in two of the line up rounds on ''Never Mind the Buzzcocks''. Gravy Train!!!!
Gravy Train!!!! were an electroclash band from Oakland, California. The band released material on the labels S.P.A.M. Records, Cold Crush, Kill Rock Stars, Cochon Records, and Retard Disco. The band had four members (represented by the four exclamation marks in the band name), that went by the pseudonyms Chunx, Funx, Hunx, and Junx. Chunx and Funx formed the band in 2001 as a vehicle for recording humiliating songs about an ex-lover. It was for this purpose that their first single, "Hella Nervous", was recorded. Shortly after, the two-piece recruited two openly gay backup dancers, Hunx and Drunx. Drunx was later replaced by Junx. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s.
