Victorian Electoral Commission
The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC), formerly the State Electoral Office, is the statutory body responsible for the running of state, municipal and various non-government elections in Victoria, Australia. Independence It is an independent agency, established under Victoria's ''Electoral Act'' 2002, the VEC falls under the umbrella of the Department of Premier and Cabinet. The VEC head office is located on level 11, 530 Collins Street, Melbourne, although during the state election there may be as many as 88 offices established throughout Victoria. Lisa Mary Neville (born 27 May 1964) is a former Australian politician, formerly serving as the member for Bellarine in the Victorian Legislative Assembly. She represented the Labor Party. Between 2014 and 2022, she was the Minister for Police and the Minister for Water. Robert William Clark (born 11 March 1957) is an Australian former politician. He was a Liberal Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1988 to 2018, representing the electorates of Balwyn (1988–1992) and Box Hill (1992–2018). The electoral district of Box Hill is an electoral district of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, covering an area of in eastern Melbourne. It contains the suburbs of Box Hill, Box Hill North, Box Hill South, Mont Albert, Mont Albert North, most of Blackburn, Blackburn North, and Blackburn South, and parts of Balwyn North, Burwood, Burwood East, and Surrey Hills. Nicholas Staikos (born 4 July 1986) is an Australian politician. He has been a Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly since November 2014, representing the Legislative Assembly seat of Bentleigh. Staikos has been serving as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier since June 2022, and the Parliamentary Secretary for Multicultural Affairs since October 2023. Career In 2005, Staikos was elected to Glen Eira Council. At 19, he was the youngest person ever elected to that council.
