Respect
Respect, also called esteem, is a positive feeling or action shown towards someone or something considered important or held in high esteem or regard. It conveys a sense of admiration for good or valuable qualities. It is also the process of honoring someone by exhibiting care, concern, or consideration for their needs or feelings. Some people may earn the respect of individuals by assisting others or by playing important social roles. In many cultures, individuals are considered to be worthy of respect until they prove otherwise. Courtesies that show respect may include simple words and phrases like "Thank you" in the West or "''Namaste''" in the Indian subcontinent, or simple physical signs like a slight bow, a smile, direct eye contact, or a simple handshake; however, those acts may have very different interpretations, depending on the cultural context. Sinner (band)
Sinner is a German heavy metal band formed by vocalist and bassist Mat Sinner in 1982 (who later joined Primal Fear). They were part of the German heavy/speed/power metal scene. Their latest album, ''Brotherhood'', was released on 15 July 2022. History Based in Stuttgart, Germany, Sinner released their first album, ''Wild'n'Evil'' in 1982. This album, along with the next two (''Fast Decision'' and ''Danger Zone'') were raw affairs, having little in common with the melodic metal they would later become known for. After many personnel changes (including drummer Edgar Patrik leaving to join Bonfire), the band saw the addition of Accept's Herman Frank on guitars and the release of ''Touch of Sin'' in 1985. Respect (charity)
Respect is a UK-based charity working in the area of domestic violence. A national organisation based in London, it provides services, including helplines, for male and female perpetrators of domestic violence, for male victims of domestic violence, and for young people who are violent in the home or relationships. It provides confidential counselling to perpetrators of domestic violence as a way to promote the safety of victims. It has been described as "the main UK organisation working with domestic violence perpetrators". Structure Respect is a membership organisation, with 15 employees and a board of 12 trustees. ''Respekt'' is a Czech weekly newsmagazine published in Prague, the Czech Republic, reporting on domestic and foreign political and economic issues, as well as on science and culture. The publication covers hip hop culture, focusing on music, photography, and style. Its circulation is approximately 250,000 per issue. Rheingold was previously the executive publisher of Harris Publications. After leaving Harris in 2009, he launched ''Respect'' with the help of Kris Ex, Paul Scirecalabrisotto, and Sally Berman. Respect (UEFA Campaign)
Respect is a social responsibility programme launched in 2008 by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). Its main objective is to work towards unity and respect across gender, race, religion and ability. Overview The Respect project at UEFA EURO 2012 tournament had four main stands: fighting against racism, increasing and improving access for fans with disabilities, promoting health through physical activity, and improving intercultural dialogue between fans. The ambassadors for the campaign were Italian referee Pierluigi Collina and Dutch footballer Clarence Seedorf. The campaign was mainly visible through TV spot which was broadcast at half-time during matches, as well as on screens at the stadiums. Part of the programme was in co-operation with the Football Against Racism in Europe network. "Respect" is the two-part series finale of the United Kingdom's longest-running police procedural television drama series, ''The Bill''. The final two episodes were written by David Harsent and directed by Reza Moradi, and aired on ITV1 on 24 August and 31 August 2010. ''Respect'' was a seven-part documentary television series featuring some of the biggest names in British sport and was broadcast each Sunday at 5.00pm on Central Independent Television during November/December 1995. The series of half-hour programmes was produced at Central Independent Television studios in Birmingham, and focused on sportspeople of African Caribbean origin who have gained "respect" through their single-minded determination to succeed in their chosen sport. ''Respect'' is a single British television drama film, written by Richard LaPlante and directed by Terry Marcel, that first broadcast on 17 December 1996 on ITV. The film stars Nick Berry as Bobby Carr and is based on the early years in the life of notorious East London villain Ray Barton, a professional boxer who is forced to retire from the sport after receiving a serious eye injury during a fight. He attempts to make money through a nightclub scam, but his illegal activities are soon discovered and he is sentenced to community service, where he is forced to teach boxing to teenagers at a local youth club.
