Republic Building, Colombo
The Republic Building is the building that houses the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in southern wing and the Cabinet Office in its northern wing. It is located in Colombo Fort in close proximity to the President's House, and it was known as the Senate Building until 1972. Building The building was built during the British colonial era to house the Legislative Council of Ceylon, which was located there until January 29, 1930, when a new building, now called the Old Parliament Building, was built to house the Legislative Council. From then until Ceylon's Independence in 1948, the Republic Building housed several government departments. The Tribune-Republic Building (also known as the Laughery House Annex or as the Shaw House) is a historic building located at 1763 Santa Barbara Street in San Luis Obispo, California. Republic Plaza is a skyscraper in Denver, Colorado. Rising 717 feet (219 m), the building currently stands as the tallest building in the city of Denver and the entire Rocky Mountain region of the United States. It was built in 1984, and contains 56 floors, the majority of which are used as office space. Republic Plaza currently stands as the 137th-tallest building in the United States. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and built of reinforced concrete clad in Sardinian granite, Republic Plaza includes of office space, and three retail levels containing shops, restaurants, and service businesses. The building has a 3-story marble lobby that features a quarterly "Art in Public Places" program of Colorado and regional artists. On October 27, 2007, the building's top 20 stories were lit in purple with giant white letters "C" and "R" to celebrate the Colorado Rockies' World Series debut. The Republic Building is a historic commercial building located in Louisville, Kentucky.The building is located at the northeast corner of Fifth Street and Muhammad Ali Boulevard, and neighbors the historic Starks Building. Prior to the renaming of several streets, Muhammad Ali Boulevard was known as Walnut Street. The mailing address is 429 West Muhammad Ali Boulevard.
