"Rendezvous" is a song by Australian hard rock group The Choirboys, released in March 1991 as the lead single from their third studio album ''Midnight Sun''. The song peaked at number 40 on the Australian ARIA charts. Reception Eric Kamau from ''Classic Rock History'' retrospectively said "'Rendezvous' is a fast-paced awe-inspiring ballad that gives us a taste of Mark Gable's vocal skillfulness. The song also features some alluring guitar riffs that make it one of the band's hard-hitting classic rock hits." The Choirboys (band)
The Choirboys is an Australian hard rock and Australian pub rock band from Sydney formed as Choirboys in 1979 with mainstays Mark Gable on lead vocals, Ian Hulme on bass guitar, Brad Carr on lead guitar and Lindsay Tebbutt on drums. In preparation for their second album '' Big Bad Noise'' in 1988, the band changed their name to The Choirboys. The band line-up saw many changes from 1983 to 2007, while releasing 8 studio albums. Their 1987 single "Run to Paradise" remains their biggest commercial success. Career Early years Choirboys formed in the Northern Beaches area of Sydney as a hard rock pub band in 1979. Original members were Brad Carr on lead guitar, Mark Gable on vocals, Ian Hulme on bass guitar and Lindsay Tebbutt on drums. Mark Dixon Kitchen (born 8 September 1950), known professionally as Mark Gable, is an Australian musician who serves as the frontman and a founding member of the rock band The Choirboys. The band was formed in Sydney in 1979. Mark was born in Captains Flat, New South Wales. Radio Starting in 2012, Mark hosted ''The Awesome Eighties'' on 107.7 2GO in The New South Wales Central Coast, with assistance from Mike Duncan. In 2008/9 Gable hosted and co-produced a weekly series for smoothfm, ''The Sunday Session'' where he interviewed many international and local artists. The show was aired on a Sunday afternoon in Sydney and Melbourne. Personal life In 2008 Gable become an ambassador for Beyondblue. Gable is married to country singer-songwriter Melinda Schneider, they were married on September 10 2022 on Killcare Beach NSW after 14 years together.
